Tanna Farms Golf Club
About
Tanna Farms Golf Club in Geneva offers some of the best golf that the Fox Valley has to offer. The layout meanders across prairies covered with wildflowers and weaves through lush wetlands. The course begins with the stunning signature hole. The par-3 opener has an island green that sets the scene for this thrilling and memorable round. Although it's a seemingly short course at 6,510 yards from the back tees, what it lacks in length it makes up for with plenty of other challenges. Besides the first hole, there are a few other tough par 3s, including one with a postage-stamp sized green. There are some daunting par 5s as well. Tanna Farms Golf Club is not a lengthy course but the layout is generously spaced to offer breathing room between the holes and the undulating slopes and subtle elevation changes make it pay much longer.

Tanna Farms is a fun and challenging course and a great value.
My first time golfing at Tanna Farms and I had a great time. The staff was courteous, the course was interesting and well maintained. It would be difficult to find such a nice course at that price point. A great value.
TighTanna
Greens and fairways are in good shape. The greens were running smooth and rather quick, which was a nice surprise. The tee boxes are typical for the area. Take some time addressing your shot and giving yourself a balance based before stepping up and cranking it. Sand traps vary from hole to hole, some are in good condition, while others are, well, just pull out. Its a challenging course; forced carries, choke off points, narrow landing areas. Course management is key on this course. I played here two days in a row; second day I broke 80.
Killer Wind
Would love to play the course again with little or no wind. There was steady 20 mph winds with gusts into the 30's adding to the difficulty. First time playing this course is very difficult without local knowledge and the fairway markers can be dificult to find. There is a lot of slope to the very quick greens but would not hesitate to go back, especially with Golf Now rate! Too tough for my wife having to carry many ponds and wetlands.
Not in Good Shape
Was fairly disappointed with the condition of the course. It looked like the course was not mowed (rough or the greens) in quite a long time. I will not come back here anytime soon.
Par 3 dominant front/championship back
Tanna Farms offers an atypical 18 hole experience. It has 4 par 3's on the front 9 which really makes players of all level feel good about their game. The back 9 is where the real golf begins. I used every club in my bag which I really like about this track. I'm looking forward to my next round there.
Tanna Farms
A challenging course from the Blue and Black tees. The fairways are nice, not real wide but allow the average golfer to stay out of the rough with a good tee shot. The rough is not crazy deep and allows you to recover. The greens are hard, fast and usually protected by some kind of a hazard. Some of the sand traps were water packed and need some maintenance other than that the course is in fine shape.
Slow play
We were 1 in 4 groups playing behind ONE slow 4 some. Thanks to the rain, we played through while they waited. It still took 4 hr 15 to finish.
Nice Country Course
This course is a great 18 hole links in Geneva. A lot of open land and not many trees. A lot of homes around the course, so a stray ball may find some unfriendly locals if you hit a house. The 13th hole is a monster 604 yard par 5 that plays uphill and doglegs right. Very fun, yet, challenging hole. A lot of driving in the cart as well. I would not recommend walking unless you want a fierce workout. There a a few spots, especially between holes 7 and 8 where you are going to be humping a long ways. Also, after hole 9, you don't return back to the clubhouse. Next time you see it will be after your round. So prepare yourself accordingly as far as drinks go to stay hydrated.
Something for Every Golfer
Tanna Farms provides great variety in its layout - something to challenge every golfer. For example, the front nine has 3 Par 3 holes and plays to just under 3000 yards. Gives you a chance to score well. Then the back nine contains 3 Par 5s, including two at 600 yards each. A completely differnt look than the front. The combination provides opportunites for multiple types of shots and strategies during the round. Caution - becomes even more challenging when it is a windy day since there is little to no tree cover on the course.
Course was in very nice condition. Staff is extremely courteous and helpful. Overall Tanna Farms is worth multiple visits
Pace of play
We had a great day July 3rd morning. Weather was cool. With all the rain we were sad that it was cart path only for the day. We were happy that we finished in 4:15. Only real negative was cart servicing course did not have sandwiches. We asked for one and when we saw cart again she said chef was too busy and only hotdogs on course today. WHAT????
Hidden Gem
A well manicured, challenging and fun course in a fairly remote western suburb of Chicago. This course is a challenge for all types of players with a premium on accuracy over length. The par 3's are fairly short but the large greens demand good positioning for putting on quick but fair greens with lots of undulations. I do not recommend walking this course unless you really need the exercise. All things considered one of my favorite local courses despite the drive.
great course, great value
Great course, not too long, makes you think off the tee. Greens were in perfect condition. Gets a bit tricky if its a windy day!
Nice Course/Good Value
Tanna Farms is one of those courses that has a nice mix of holes and makes you really think about your shots. There is alot of water on this course but it takes some bad shots for it to come into play but nonetheless you can lose a fair share of balls there. The Par 3s are challenging especially the first hole. Many of the holes you need to keep your driver in the bag because a long shot will get you in trouble. On the other hand, several Par 5s you need a big drive to set up your second shot. It was a fun course to play. You need to ride this course because the distance from some of the holes especially those on the back nine are very far.
Great way to spend Father's Day with your son
The course has some tricky water jetting out into the fairways that is not visible. Elevated greens makes club selection difficult at times. The course has few par 4's as they are mostly par 3's (9) and par 5's. The first hole is a short par 3 over water and not a pleasant way to start the round. The course was in great condition and moved along well. We arrived at the pro shop and they had the record of our registry and payment immediately on hand. I will be back to play the course again very soon.
Great course
Great course for the money its probably so cheap because its in the middle of nowhere but it was still very good. course conditions were pretty good and the layout is fairly easy if you are an accurate hitter.
A nice surprise
I'd heard of this course but never found a reason to play it, until I found the GolfNow deal. While the course requires quite a bit of shot management, it's quite fair. A couple of locals with whom we were paired provides some helpful hints. I really enjoyed playing it and will definitely return.
confusing
The course is very spread out with hardly any signs letting you know where you are going. The fairways are very tight and every hope seems to be a part 5 or a par 3. Course was in great condition but just not my type of course.
poor course management
Had the misfortune to play Tanna Farms, the course was in good condition, the weather was great. If you like to play 5 1/2 hour rounds , this is the course for you.
When I asked the beverage cart attendant if there were rangers available to speed up play, she asked what a ranger was? and suggested I call the clubhouse, which I did. they sent out some 16 year old kid who did nothing. So we quit after 9 holes, and when we asked the person in the pro shop for consideration because of the pace, they said it was just slow today and offered no assistance
good value out west
Course offers challenging shots off tee from number 1 through 18. Fun to play.
