Hill Country Golf Club - Lakes/Creeks
About
Spread across 200 scenic acres of rolling meadows and steep hillsides, Hill Country Golf Club offers 27 scenic holes of championship golf. Designed by renowned architectural firm Arthur Hills & Associates, Golf Digest considers it one of Texas’ best places to play. Each course covers a beautiful landscape of native oak, wildflowers, and cactus. The Lakes Nine is obviously characterized by the clear blue lakes that come into play throughout the course. There are also wooded ravines and strategically placed bunkers throughout the course for even more challenges. The Creeks Nine, named after the creeks that meander through the layout, this course demands accuracy with water coming into play on several holes and numerous strategically placed bunkers. In addition to the three nines, Hill Country Golf Club also offers a putting green and driving range.

Creek Course #9 Photo submitted by GreerGolf on 06/06/2017
First Class
Great course. Super fast greens. Some fairways are a little narrow on the oaks course making it a tad more challenging.
Good course, would play again
Friendly staff, nice fairways, and fast greens going down grain. All holes were nice, one exception, #12 on the Oaks. A bit tricked up. Do not lay up, take a 3 wood and fly it over the trees, the ball will roll down near the green. If you lay back of the trees, you have a much more difficult shot to the green. Had fun, will come back.
Always a favorite!
For San Antonio golf, the Hyatt is my favorite. Because they have 27 holes, the pace always seems good with the number of golfers they allow. They also don't bunch up tee times to ridiculous increments that ensure waiting! The course is in great condition and offers lots of variety on topography and challenge. They offer new electric carts with GPS and the facilities are top notch. Always a great experience and worth the little extra to play here.
Best Bunkers in San Antonio
I played the Oaks & Lakes for a reduced "Local" rate. Staff in golf shop and on course were excellent. Course conditions were fair--except for the bunkers which have the nicest white sand in San Antonio. Most of the greens had some sort of disease or fungus, so the pins were placed away from those areas. The course was very dry, including grass bunkers near greens. Maybe they have different watering restrictions than other coursed I have played in the last month. GPS worked well, course is a target golf course. We ordered food via GPS on 7th hole--when we made the turn, the bartender said "oh, i didn't check the system" so we had to wait for her to cook the dogs--which were not cooked when we got them. 19th hole seemed to get a lot of Hotel Guests, including very young children, not what I am used to at other courses. I would play again, but not at full price.
Great layout with narrow fairways
Course is in great shape for dry Texas conditions. Greens are true and generally in good condition. There are a few bare spots on the greens. Fairways and bunkers have been well maintained and are in excellent shape.
Great round
Course was in very good shape other than a couple greens that looked like they were being worked on. Staff was great and course was challenging but fair
Interesting, relaxing course
You almost need to play this part of the course twice to be able to navigate a few tricky shots.
So short
Although the course was in great shape and greens were real fast and smooth, they had all the tee's way up and the course was playing way too short. It really took the driver out of the bag most of the day and made for a lot of awkward iron shots from the box. Liked the layout, especially of lakes.
Great course
As always, great course in good playing conditions.
Only drawback, this specific date, because of a wedding, they closed one of their 3 courses , which caused them to push players making the 9 hole turn to be push to the same remaining 9 hole course, causing extremely slow play.
I would not pay full price for course
Saw where I could play this course course for 25 dollars and couldn't turn it down. Course was nice but I would never pay what they normally charge. There were greens that had dead areas filled with sand. I felt this course should be in much better condition. Both La Cantera courses are in much better shape than Hyatt Hill Country was!
GPS ready
I enjoyed using the hole views to help with club selection.
Nice layout, greens need some attention!
i enjoyed the course overall, however, some of the greens have bare spots and need some attention. I played the blue tees 6,400 yes, sine the choice was that or 5800 to 5,900 yards. There are a couple of holes that you don't know what to hit off the tee. Lucky I played with a couple of members, but it was still hard to trust hitting on an unknown line and hope you hit the correct distance.
The cart paths are two way in spots. They go around some curves and up or down hills. I saw a collision while I was there and the one cart wound up with a broken axle! Be careful on the turns and slow is a lot better for your well being. The signs on the path and on the GPS give you plenty of warnings, you just need to pay attention to it.
Great course
This is a great course to play. Like the idea of 3 different nines and each one plays different. The staff was really friendly and very helpful for a first timer playing there. It's a little to pricy for me but it's worth the money.
Immaculate condition
Played Hyatt Hill country through golfnow.com for $25 and was lucky enough for a early weekend tee time, Course normally charges $110 so I was very fortunate enough to play this 5 star course for 1/4 if he price.
I recommend anyone to play this 27 hole course fun challenge but very fair to all level of handicaps.
If you want to experience what it feels like to hit out of white Augusta bunkers then this course is a treat.. You'll love it here. Bring the family over for a great resort experience as they provide all sorts of outdoor activities.
Interesting layout
Challenging and different. Fairways are narrow and sometimes there are blocked shots when you hit the fairway. But overall excellent conditions and unique holes.
Challenging course
An amazing course laid out very well to challenge every aspect of your game. Keep it in the fairway!
Hyatt golf
Nice day with the wife and nice value at a nice resort!
A Must play in SAT area
First trip to San Antonio area and this course was very enjoyable. Real nice course conditions and challenging for both my wife and I but fun to play. Plenty of hazards to keep you honest. Each hole unique which was a nice experience. Went off late afternoon and the staff still had their best customer service attitude. Would recommend if you are in the area.
