Poor condition
Greens were good but the fairways were poor, there are squirrels everywhere and burrow holes in practically every bunker as well as other parts of the course.
Very poor sand in the bunkers, poor value for what they are charging.
The Greens keep me coming back
Shoreline offers golfers a full 18 championship golf course meaning it offers the traditional 4 par 5’s 4 par 3’s and the yardage length that qualifies as such. I started playing golf about a year and a half ago and hot from the whites up until recently moving back to the blues which has given this course a whole new look for me challenge wise... the greens are always superb and as of late maintenance has been working hard on getting everything in their control in order ( protected animals prevents course from getting g rid of gopher holes, geese, etc.. all in all this course has a personality as opposed to similar priced courses in the area..( Baylands , poplar, Moffet ) more challenging and fun in my opinion as it’s not as crowded as the previously mentioned courses
Great fun course, just a couple things ...
The maintenance crew was out watering the greens and repairing fairways all the way through the front nine up to around noon, on a Sunday. Wouldn’t Monday have been a better day for that ?
We came across 2 couples taking a nice walk along the cart paths . Our extra single asked them kindly to find the trail across the street.
The burger and fries at the turn was delicious. Staff was great!!
Course is okay
I love the course layout but the course condition is going down hill. Fairways has lots of weeds, dirt, dead grass, and a tone of squirrel holes. I hope they hire a new ground manager to turn the course around.
Course is an overpriced dump.
Geese everywhere, lots of poop. Hundreds of ground squirrels burring in holes on the fairways. Greens in mediocre condition and it took 5 hours to play on a Saturday. Not even close to being a $75 course. Staff is super nice though.
Worth checking out
Nice course. It was windy, being right on the bay, which made it challenging. Sloping greens are challenging and were in good condition. Pace of play was a bit slow and there was no starter to regulate it. I also found it odd that I couldn't contact anyone actually at the course to inquire about conditions before driving around 50 miles to play.
Below Expectations
I was disappointed at playing Shoreline. The only thing positive was the parking lot had solar panels to keep your car cool. The course still has great potential but they have let the holes dry out. Some of the bunkers have dirt and some have sand which is annoying as a golfer.
I was also upset that the staff let a public golfer join our group without our consent. This happen in the middle of our round by the way.
I think there just has to be improved maintenance on the course. Lots of dead grass and the greens are beaten up. Hopefully, the course does get some love and care or maybe a renovation.
Wide open to play.
Course is running great. The greens are perfect and super challenging putting locations. The daily winds are an advantage on several holes.
The ball carries pretty well down the fairways.
Intermediate Amateur to Professional Play
This course is such a beautiful scene. The terrain is well maintained and the greens are fast. Long holes with plenty of forgiving room. Downfall is the smell and geese poop everywhere. Very packed everyday of the week. So the entire course is always backed up at each hole.
Caddyshack
Challenging links course. There were more gophers on the course than golfers... Seriously, I hit perfect drives down the middle on the two par 5's and couldn't find my ball but did find lots of gopher holes. Otherwise enjoyed the round, much like Moffett Fields GC but longer and more challenging.
