Nice views of the countryside
Several fairways have intrusive trees and there's a par-3 with a blind tee shot. Greens aerated 3 weeks ago but not in great shape.
This course is fun, with some great twists to challenge the players.
I have only been playing golf for a couple years now, so I'm still learning, still a novice. Indian Valley is a lovely course, with great views anywhere you look. More importantly, this course is challenging to experienced players, yet forgiving enough for a novice to enjoy. We completed the course in just over 4 hours, yet didn't feel rushed. I definitely will play this course again, and recommend it to my friends.
I will say the rough was a bit too rough in places.
Good deal, fun course, decent shape, nice views
I really like this course, lots of elevation changes, a few blind shots -- but a fun/fair challenge. I do wish the course would have noted the recent aeration condition of the greens (bumpy and slow). I'll be back when the greens heal.
greens recent plugged bumpy, slow
recent plugged greens bumpy and slow, hard yo read.
Absolutely gorgeous course
Loved the hills and views. Plenty of difficult shots and blind shots. Greens weren't in the best condition or it would be a 5 star review for sure. I'll go back as soon as I can!!
Good course usually, but very upset that the Aerification Alert was not shown on Golf Now for Monday. It does not show up for any day this week.
We depend on Golf Now to put the "A" alert up when it is appropriate since you don't contact the course directly. Our foursome was very upset that all the greens were totally aerified and were full of fertilizer and herbicides--not a fun way to play. Apparently everyone but Golf Now users were notified since very few people were out.
At least contact the course and get the alert up for the remainder of the period it is affected.
Thank you.
Good course and good exercise to walk because of hills
Start was right on time and pace of play was slow as a large group plays on the day of our tee time and they were running late. Marshall was not allowed to ask them to speed up because they come every week.
needs a lot of work
I've played this course for years. It used to be well maintained... not any more. The greens were in terrible shape, bumpy and bare. The fairways were brown and covered with bare spots. The bunkers had fresh sand but only about a 1/2" sprinkeled on top of very hard clay. It will be a long time before I return. I hope they fix it up as it is a beatutiful location.
very disappointed!!!!
Course is in a beautiful setting and provides a variety of challenges
This course is almost always fully booked and pace of play can be an issue, but was not a problem today. It was a gorgeous day and course was in pretty good condition. We were a little surprised to see so many trees dramatically cut back, but it will likely let the greens get more sunshine and ultimately stay in better shape year round.
Decent track
Good course, better than Peacock Gap and marginally worse than San Geronimo in my book. They area is beautiful and the course plays well. 18 doesn't cost much and you get good value for money here. You'll enjoy your round, but will leave probably not remembering too many of the holes.
Very challenging course with elevation changes and deceptive greens.
Beautiful surroundings with the hills and wildlife. Windy conditions, so I was grateful to wear layers. Approach shots on a few holes were challenging because of uneven lies. Lucky to not get into the sand traps and pulled a birdie on hole #8. Not bad for my first time out!!!
Over Priced for Lousy Greens!
This golf course is ok but the greens are so lousy....there are so many better places to play that are worth it. Playing there should be your last choice. Also if you are looking for a friendly place to play this is not the one, the locals don't want you there. The pro shop people were rude.
Great conditions, great value.
We found the course in good condition, greens and fairways, well maintained. Lots of wildlife, good views of surrounding hills
greens in good shape.
Pace was good, group ahead stayed ahead, group behind did not push us, we played as a foursome.
great elevations. great views. great bar
This is a favorite course of mine for many years. The first three holes are a gauntlet. The last three holes are a blast!
Interesting course with many surprises, not a flat muni type at all.
Nestled in the novato hills its a hidden treasure with many challenges, and beautiful veiws. Its not perfect of course with the painstaking upkeep of hillside drain off and so many trees dropping leaves. But they do a great job of keeping it in very good condition, the greens are fast(a couple have been patched in from infestation)but otherwords very good.I like hill courses best as they test your ability to read the course and your ability to place your shots, ultimately this makes you a much better player.
Greens were wet and bumpy in the afternoon
A beautiful day . Balls were plugging, no roll. Work on the # 4 par three brought the temp green into play. The pace was slow, waiting at every tee. Despite all the issues I enjoyed my round and was happy to be there.
Good Time
Played Sunday January 6, 2013 following some heavy rains the previous week and light rain just a few days prior. The course was in good shape with a few plugged balls but none lost. Most of the fairways were damp but firm and the greens all played even and fair. The staff was great and the sun was shining most of the day. great scenary and a challenging round. I can forecast that Indian Valley will be a great place to play in the spring.
This course is horrible right now
The worst greens I've seen in years. Played on a Saturday and the holes were in the same location as the day before. How can you not change the pins for weekend play? Indian Valley has serious drainage issues. Balls were plugging in the fairway all day. The conditions were so bad we quit after nine holes.
extremey nice views ,tough to walk but doable
a gem in marin, luckey to have . was impressed with the shape
of fairways being we had so mutch rain, greens still soggy
but not bad , wonderful staff and good food
I love the tram up the hill on the back 9
This is a great layout. It's a cross between Stone Tree and Mare Island. Fun for all
