It's an average course with no outstanding features
Most of the sand traps have now been renovated, so they can be played from.
Highly recommend
Aside from the cover restrictions, this course offered a challenging yet rewarding golf outing. The pro shop was set up outdoors and the I was disappointed at the lack of merchandise. I was looking for a ball mark and towel to add to my collection and there were none in stock.
Once on the first tee however, my impression changed drastically. A beautiful course that takes full advantage of the surroundings, from the natural tree locations, the water and the wildlife. Scenery was stunning and surely added to the delight of the round.
I highly recommend this course for the average and advanced player.
Too many people!
We waited on every shot!
They were sending groups out every 8 min, so very crowded. There were several times we finished a hole just to find a group on the next tee that had not yet teed off. very slow. Teed off a little after 1pm and did not finish back nine. at the pace pace we were going, 5 hours + to finish a round! I like the course but will not return for a while.
It’s been awhile ...
Been a few years since I’ve played at Peacock Gap. I was able to get a late tee time at a good price knowing that I probably wouldn’t be able to get a whole round in. The pace of play was fair and as I expected, ran out of light on the 15th green. (A shame since I was looking forward to the 16th par 3 over water). Only issue I had was with some new golfers that didn’t know proper etiquette. Hit a couple of balls right at us without calling out “fore” (one time while we weren’t even on the green on a par 3). Course conditions were fine (wet #11 fairway that was cart path only, but wasn’t marked off as such. A warning popped up on the cart, but after one of us had already drove onto it). I will definitely comeback if I can find another deal at an earlier time.
130 start couldn’t finish
Golfers must be mindful of winter hours so you can try and finish. The golfers in from of us were moving too slow and so we could only play 15 before it became too dark to finish. Having a marshal remind people of short days will help the pace move faster.
