About
There are two championship courses at Foxtail Golf Club, the North and the South. Situated in the heart of wine country, both courses enjoy a lush, scenic landscape and pleasant views of the surrounding countryside. The longer and more difficult North Course was completely redesigned to make it more challenging but the player-friendly South Course has remained a favorite destination of both Sonoma and Marin Counties for its playability. It provides a more beginner-friendly option than the North, but there are still plenty of challenges in store. No water hazards come into play but there are several strategically placed bunkers as well as trees lining the fairways. In addition to the two golf courses, Foxtail also boasts one of the best practice facilities in the North Bay. There is a full driving range available as well as chipping and putting greens.

Great value.
Great value for the money spent. Greens were a little slow and bumpy, rough was a little inconsistent but overall a good course and enjoyable afternoon.
Death Crawl Pace of Play
Course is in decent shape, but fairways are inconsistent, (Some very bare dirt patches mixed in with cut fairway grasses). Greens are in okay shape and roll pretty good. Pace of play was a disaster though. 3-some in front of me literally took 3+ minutes looking for Every Shot one in their group made and then he would just drop in middle of fairway on minute 4. One hole took over 30 minutes for them to finish so my wife and I skipped a hole to be able to finish in under 5+ hours...
Expected Better!!!
Decent Layout. Course in fair condition. Greens had been recently aerated and were incredibly slow. Was expecting a really top notch course.
South Course is trash
The conditions are atrocious and the layout is beyond boring. Maybe the north course is better, but I would be ashamed to take people’s money for the south.
This course needs tlc
The tees were bumpy, overgrown and not manicured. There were many boggy spots. The greens were not consistent but were OK.
Foxtail South is in good shape
Overall good course conditions, The rough was a bit longer than it should be for the market. No rangers or cart came to the south side all day and we did have to push through a couple of slow groups on our own. That said, greens rolling good, fairways in good shape. They should have reminders everywhere that ball marks need repair....

Fairway bunkers were in sad shape with weeds growing out of some. Bunkers around greens were okay but the ones I played out of were muddy (4). The bunkers need new sand. Spend the money to bring sand in.

Attention women!
We played the north course and it isn’t “women friendly”! No red tees and - 5 out of 10 par 4s were at least 325 or more yards which means if you hit your drive 160, you’ll need to hit your next shot 140 to get on the green in 2 shots. If you can do this consistently as a woman golfer, congratulations. And the distance isn’t the worse part. There are plenty of fairway sand traps and traps guarding the greens to maneuver around. it is a challenging course but well maintained and fun!
