Jimmy Clay Golf Course
About
Jimmy Clay Golf Course opened in 1974 with a 6,931 yard Joe Finger design that incorporates Williamson Creek. This track is flat as well, and is noted for its generous fairways and large, elevated greens. The first and last holes are perhaps the most memorable. No. 1 serves up a blind approach shot over a hill into a skinny green, and the 400-yard doglegged 18th plays into the wind with water on the left side.

Not worth playing, play Kizer instead
Course in bad shape, fairways had hardly any grass, even used a tee in some places because i was sick of hitting off tin pan lies. Lots of muddy areas, annoying and hole 13 was shut done due to irrigation work. Only thing good about the course was the greens but the rest was not good.
I recommend playing Kizer instead, night and day difference between the 2 courses which is odd since i assume they use the same maintenance crew.
Jokes un playable
They told me once I got there one hole was under repair, turns out 2 holes were in prepared, and the Marshall couldn’t do or didn’t do anything about a 2 some slowing down the entire course
Make sure irrigation construction is complete
greens were in great shape. Fairways were in descent shape for this time of year. Was unable to play two holes due to ongoing construction/replacement of pipes for irrigation system. Would recommend asking if they have completed the construction before playing. Hopefully it will make the course better/greener later during the summer months.
2:40 Tee time
Course is jam packed. We got through 10 holes in 3 hours before it turned dark. Constantly waited on groups in front
Greens were slow and had no break but other than that great value for your money and a fun course to play.
Nice hidden Jem
The course was very well kept. Greens were slow. Hole #9 was in repair and could not play it. Fairways were in great shape except for hole #1. The golf pro was not friendly and acted like he was doing you a favor by letting you play. I'll pay this one again in spite of unfriendly staff.
Never finished 18 at this course
Always a slow pace of play here. Conditions were great - October 2020
Rain Delay
Hi,
I had a tee time for noon with 3 members. We paid on Golfnow and it unfortunately was storming during our tee time. We only got thru 5 holes. I talked to Tim at jimmy Clay Golf Course and he said GolfNow could provide a refund or rain check on my account. Please let me know if you need any other information. Thank you.
Jimmy Clay - Pleasantly Surprised
Since I live in Round Rock, I rarely get out south to play, and when I do I usually play Roy Kizer. However, I saw a good deal on GolfNow, and decided to play Jimmy Clay. It has been about 4 years since I last played Clay, and was impressed with the overall course conditions. Fairways were decent, and greens were in good condition (although a little slow). Not many people out on a Thursday, so the pace of play was fine. Will definitely go back.
