Jimmy Clay Golf Course

I live right next door to the course. It’s a very friendly course with a good bang for your buck. Staff is always friendly and tee times are convenient and cheap. It’s a good layout and has a couple of challenging holes but the rest will be more forgiving.

The greens were in great shape at this course considering it’s the middle of winter however the pace of play was exceptionally slow there was two groups of four in front of us that could not keep up at all even when the Marshall went out there to tell them to hurry we still waited on almost every shot

I’m new to playing and this course is the perfect course to learn! A lot of hard holes and easy holes to boost confidence. I would play it again!

Played jimmy Clay for the first time since the course has transitioned to winter rye on the greens, surrounds and tees. I definitely like the course more when it's in summer shape. The overseed at this point has grown in fairly well but greens seemed inconsistent in speed. The other problem is that due to all the wet weather last week, the mowers seemed to do some damage around the greens, so a lot of balls were stuck in muddy tracks. Unfortunate.

All things considered I think I'd veer towards mo Willy at the moment over Jimmy Clay, even though I tend to prefer the total layout and facility at Clay more.

The good news is that we had a 9am tee time on a pleasant and sunny Sunday and despite the fact there were fivesomes ahead of us, we weren't slowed down too much. We finished in about 4 hours flat and I actually made it home before the time I told my wife I would there, which is rare.

Course in good shape. Pace was great and good thing because winter hit as we were finishing up.

I like this course and have played here before, but today it was so so crowded. They started us almost 30 minutes late and we waited between 5 and 10 minutes every hole for the folks in front of us. They had people in front of them and we had at least two groups right behind us.

I enjoy this course. It’s close to my house and it’sa challenging course. I’ve played here at least 10 times and probably closer to 20 times. Overall I do recommend this course. Hit’em straight and long

This was my first time playing this course and I really enjoyed it. The conditions were good and the pace of play was good for a Saturday. I would definitely play again.

I enjoyed the golf course and the two gentlemen we were paired up with that day. We finished 18 in four hours which is very good time. Though the way we were treated by the course rangers was ridiculous. The two gentlemen were older and could only hit the ball about 150 yds max. They had a handicap cart due the the one gentlemen playing the first time he’s been allowed to due to hip replacement. You could tell by watching him he was doing the best he could. But the rangers followed us and kept on us to speed it up, which I’ve played golf for forty year and we were moving at a good pace. Four hours from first ball hit to finished is very standard anywhere. I think there Problem was we didn’t keep up with the twosome in front of us. I felt really bad for this two 75+ years old gentlemen. Almighty dollar overrides understanding and common sense again.

Golf course is ok. Price is very good and easy access. Practice facility is A+. Staff is just ok. Greens are slow and fuzzy. Municipal golf

The layout has a lot of doglegs and it challenges you big time. If you can shape shots and are accurate off the tee you can tear this course up. Pace of play was 4/5 only because the group in front of me kept stopping to talk in the carts for minutes at a time. The tee boxes/fairways/rough was in fantastic condition. Greens are running true and I’m good shape with exception of 4 holes where there is patches (then had grounds crew at each of the greens that needed help fixing it ) overall a really fun 18 holes to play, would recommend to any scratch to mid handicap players

For a municipal course Jimmy Clay is fantastic. The fairways and greens are in really great shape. It’s a really fun course. It’s got some challenges to it but nothing that the average golfer wouldn’t love. I love playing Jimmy Clay. Most importantly it’s fun. For me a course that challenges you but also doesn’t leave you frustrated is great and Jimmy has it for sure. Go have fun.
