Morris Williams Golf Course

First time at Mo Williams. About 6600 yds from the Blue tees (71.9/128). Only a couple of holes had water, but some of the tee shots were a bit tight or needed a big carry. Was pretty slow, but expected for a weekend. Followed a group playing the tips who should not have been. No marshals on the course, no water, and didn't see a drink cart until #16. Bottleneck at #3 which is a long and challenging par 3 over water. Tee boxes and greens all around need some attention. Overall, enjoyed the round and will go back soon.

Fairways and rough are in great conditions. Greens were in fair condition though a small number of weeds. Pros and cart vendors were nice and informative. Only negative would be that you can't share golf bags. One couple (guy and girl) were teeing off to start a walking round when told they are required to rent a second bag to play. Think it was around $6. Not entirely sure why but they both nailed it down the middle of the fairway. Gotta make those extra bucks where you can.

It has been almost 40 yr since I played Morris Williams and a lot had changed.

The course layout is basically the same. The vegetation has changed dramatically but over all still a great course.

I was a bit unhappy with the greens though. They hadn't smoothed out yet from the Aeration and were still very ruff..

Still looking forward to my next round here.

Absolutely garage greens!! I would rather go play Hancock golf course all day for a fraction of the price!

Course in good conditions, considering coming out of the winter. Some greens were a little rough but it is understandable. Should be in great shape in two weeks, will come back again then! Staff was great and the pace was good. Will be back!

This was my second time playing here and the course was a lot of fun! The greens had been sanded so they were a bit rough condition wise.

I enjoyed playing here, but I have to say one of the two woman in the pro shop was about as welcoming as a f@rt in a spacesuit. She wanted to penalize me for using GolfNow to buy my round and charge me the full course price for a re-play fee at the end of the day when no more tee times were being sold. She told me I have to keep a receipt next time (when I wasn’t given one).. there are other jobs, if you’re THAT unhappy… leave, mam, otherwise just try being be a kind person.

Thankfully the other woman was kind enough to tell her to just let me pay the $12 repay fee. Thank you!

The greens aren’t in great shape and the pin placements don’t make a lot of sense given the conditions.

Nice course in good condition. Just don’t gauge your putting of the practice green. I rolled a few prior to the round and practice green was like putting on a pool table. The course greens are much slower. Played with a good group of guys and the pace was good for a Friday afternoon.

I would’ve given five stars, but we had a frost delay and several days before they had freezing conditions. So they obviously had to let the greens grow and they were hairy. This was not their fault, it was Mother Nature. Great time!! We finished 18 holes in 3:45 minutes!

The two older ladies working the front desk made our initial experience very unpleasant. While waiting to pay for our tee time, an individual walked in without a reservation and asked for any availability. The workers treated this gentleman like he was a burden and his presence was an inconvenience for them. Keep in mind the course was almost empty because a rain storm just passed through the course. Arranging a tee time should have been super easy and extra money for the course.

When we started our round of play my partner and I shared a golf bag with all our individual clubs inside our rented golf cart. Right as we were starting the tenant lady came to us with attitude and mentioned each golfer needs their own bag to play this course. We explained that we had our own clubs but we’re sharing a bag since we walked to the course and our pace of play would not change because we are in the same cart and having another bag of clubs would not make a difference. The tenant continued to say we cannot play unless we have two bags on the cart. To end the nonsense we bought a rental bag and she provided another set of clubs.

We told her politely that we felt her and her colleague were rude and the attitude that they were showing was very unpleasant on this holiday week. She continued to say that the rainy weather and slow day was a factor for her behavior. The attitude we noticed portrayed someone who disliked their job and could care less about the experience each golfer has at the course.

The course is always amazing; however these two ladies made the start of our game frustrating due to the lack of customer service.

Really enjoyed it. Everything was good. The only negative was one of the guys who they paired with me was brutally slow… not the course’s fault of course. Will definitely go back!

Love this course. Third time playing it. Consistently good.
