Oak Harbor Golf Club
About
Situated just 25 minutes outside of New Orleans, Oak Harbor Golf Club is one of the area's most popular courses. The course is a challenging test without being too intimidating for beginners. It offers risk-reward holes that will appeal to low and high handicappers alike. Lee Schmidt, who worked closely with Pete Dye, designed the golf course, and incorporated many of Dye's signature features into the design. Sculpted mounding and native grasses frame the generous landing areas and you'll even find Dye's trademark railroad ties framing the greens. There are also several lakes that come into play throughout. Oak Harbor Golf Club's seventh and 15th holes are particularly notable for their intimidating tee shots over water. If you strategize carefully, the four par 5s provide some birdie opportunities but you'll have to carefully navigate through a combination of water, traps, and undulations.

Carts are falling a part and sinkholes dominate the fairways. Greens are great, however.
Home course
I play here minimum of once per week. The bunkers have been in disrepair for some time but they have just been rebuilt and sodded. With continued investment, this will be a beautiful facility.
Greens are in good shape and fairways are greening up. The carts need to be replaced.
Overall I enjoy the course and will continue to play there frequently.
Good day bad conditions.
The course can and probably will be a 4 at some point, but not now. Good layout but they are doing a lot of work on different areas of the course.
Course in bad shape !
Oak Harbor - nice layout but course in bad shape for the money I paid to play the golf course . Golf course in really bad shape - guess they are working on it , but should have charged that much to play a round of golf . Fairways in really bad shape ! Overall bad experience - will not go back ! Guess the course has meet its hay day !
Always was one of the better courses in the area.
All we hope for is a golf course's maintenance crew is trying. Oak Harbor is a great course. Played lighting fast due to no rain. The greens were in great shape. It is hard to comprehend how much money they are putting into improvement s. Didn't we just have two years of Covid?
Oak Harbor
Great course for the money, getting it ready for late spring/summer
Fertilizer on greens and fairways. Will be great in a couple of months
Greens slow. Lot of hard pan.
Very slow greens, though relatively smooth.
Nothing but hard pan all around greens to chip/pitch from.
Course layout was decent.
No maintenance
Tee boxes are awful. No grass in fairways. Greens rolled good aside from the pitch marks that’s the old members won’t fix. Range is closed most of the time and it’s hard to find grass anywhere.
Eehhhh
Supposed to be an advantage to be able to tee a ball up. Not a single tee box is level or in good condition. Can’t complain about greens except for the members not fixing divots. Drains and dries pretty quit after a decent rain so no complaints there. But no range after rain. I like the layout and overall greens condition.
Friendly staff
Played this course numerous times and each time the pace of play has been slow. Love the layout and staff is friendly and courteous. Carts could use some maintenance, no parking brakes so cart rolls off on an incline. Bunkers desperately in need of maintenance, no sand a lot of pebbles. Fairways were in fair condition several had bare spots. Greens roll true.
