A Gem in the Rough
Green Tree is the kind of course that makes you think. Although the length is not terribly long, the layout meanders through tracts of homes and shot placement is key. Otherwise you may be up against a fence or in someone's backyard. There are however, wide-open par 5 holes and very narrow dog-leg par 4 holes. Par 3 holes are reachable by even the most beginning golfers. The course is challenging in that you need to manage your shots, so you can be in the best position for the next shot. There are some uphill and downhill fairways to make the layout interesting. The greens are in good to excellent condition and some really challenge your ability to read the break. Homes line both sides of nearly every hole. Some holes have a generous off-fairway area and others are tight requiring an iron to play safe. You will be very surprised at how fun Green Tree is to play. WARNING: NO DRIVING RANGE.
had fun
Good course but the grass was dry and dead in spots but the greens around the holes were in great shape. The restaurant is closed Mon. - Fri. but you can get hotdogs. The bar closes at 4:00,
good golf course
I think the round fee is good to enjoy golf at the Green Tree golf course.
Average, but fun.
Shotgun start was different for me. Most fairways are wide. Greens were very fast, like putting on concrete. Bunker sand not very deep making recovery shots difficult.
worth the try
If you have played in the high desert you probably know the winds can be a gamble. Well luck was not on my side this day so try and check the weather ahead and or get an earlier tee time. The club house is very nice and staff very friendly. No driving range, only a couple of mats with a net and a small putting green across the street from the clubhouse and 1st tee. As we made the turn at about 2:30 we asked the cart barn guy if the grill was still open and he did not know nor did he offer to find out. Also no beverage or cart on the course. As for as the course goes the greens were very fast. Couldn't get any shots to hold. The fairways needed some attention. The parking brake on the cart didn't work most of the time and after about 15 holes started jerking when going up a grade so not sure if that meant the battery was going out but we managed to make at back in. You are surrounded by houses and seems like you are crossing a street on every other hole to get to the next tee. This course has some potential and worth checking out.
fareways have some dry spots
dry spots in some areas of the course which makes for not the best playing conditions and some place are overly wet and where it should be wet dry but it still some what good to play.
Improving a little bit at a time
I am very happy to see the course in playable shape. I have been playing at other local courses for the past 6 years because of unplayable conditions at this course. They have made some good improvements to the course. They still need to work on fairway conditions but overall this course is fun to play again.
Greentree
We had a great time, and got a hot deal so it was a very good value. The course needs some work. Quite a few bare areas around the greens/chipping areas. Very nice bar and clubhouse. The staff were very nice. The carts need replaced, and you pretty much need to ride as the course is residential, and have to cross a street to get from each green to the next tee.
Fast n furious
Weathered the bitter temperature n gusty winds but was rewarded with a 3:15 round. Good deal for the price.
no drainage
Fairways were soaked. It was not because of rain. Instead of the city fixing the divots on greens they just filled them with sand.
Great course
Very good course. Some challenging holes. Over all great day out
New management is a hit!
I stopped playing here because of unfriendly management and bad course conditions. Well the new management has really turned this place around and the golf course is getting back into shape. I will now play here often.

New management. Nice greeting in the pro shop. Got right on. Course in great condition, playing fair. No one in front, no one behind, a good practice day. The deal from golf now was great, but the cart was rickety. I'll be back!
Lackluster Course. Great Ammenities and Staff
The lady in the pro shop was very nice and helped us get set up quickly. The pro shop is the best in the high desert(as far as I can tell), as well as the lounge/bar/grill area. The course isnt surrounded by the best of housing and the grounds can be better kept. Hole 1&9 are the best kept as they can be seen due to passing traffic and entry way. It is usually fairly cheap for the hot deal. I am playing Apple Valley today and hear its much better. My home course as of now is Hesperia Country Club or Ashwood.
Under new management
The course is under new management so there working hard to get it back in shape so far so good nice staff

Stop there to play on the way to Vegas. I was not disappointed with the course. Its your typical desert course. Its med summer out here and the green's are furry (very, very slow) but it has to be or it would fry form the sun! To me, every course needs to be played once!!
What a beautiful Golf Course
Best its ever looked. Greens, Tees and Fairways looked great but an employee told me the roughs were 18" high because the City of Victorville was in the middle of changing Management Companies and wouldn't fix the equipment for the Superintendent. ( How Sad !! ) See the pictures for your self.
Average all around
Considering the area, this is a decent course but needs some attention to fairways. Most So. Cal courses are suffering due to lack of rain and this is no exception. Course is surrounded by older homes with some nice views but nothing spectacular. Worth it if you get the hot deal rate.
fun to play
the course was in good shape although a bit over watered .started out a single, but was invited to join the threesome in front which made the game much more enjoyable .the course is challenging and plays longer than the actual yardage . play early as the wind is a factor in the late afternoon
