Located just 10 minutes from Orlando International Airport and only 20 minutes from Disney World, Remington Golf Club in Kissimmee, Florida features a contemporary design that is fair -- and challenging. Designed by Clifton, Ezel & Clifton and opened in May 1996, the course features four par 5s and five sets of tees, as well as abundant water and generous landing areas. Meticulous course conditioning includes walk-mown greens, and all of this translates to some of the most superior playing conditions in the Orlando area. Remington Golf Club's 6,000-square-foot clubhouse is a popular event host.

Disappointment

My wife and I are "Snow Birds" and wanted to play a round to work some of the cob webs out from a few months of not playing, We have played Remington previously, and while it has never been one of the top courses in Central Florida, it was always in fair condition. This year we found it to be in pretty poor shape. The first hole was so bad that there was excavation equipment in the middle of the fairway. Other fairways had significant spots of crabgrass and sparse grass with muddy areas. You were better off hitting from the rough. The greens were in good shape. Pace of play was a little bit slow, but not as bad as years past; likely because people are not playing here right now due to the poor conditions.

Could be awesome

The layout is excellent. The conditions are bad. The fairways need to be reseeded and they need to put some money back into the course

Mud Pit

Course should be closed to recover. Mud everywhere. Carts are just tearing it up more.

Tough Conditions

Extremely wet on many holes. Some areas should have been blocked off to avoid further course damage. On first hole we literally got stuck in the mud with our cart as the path was washed away.

Obviously weather had much to do with it but can’t help but feel poor drainage had something to do with it.

Extremely wet

First hole was almost unplayable because of wet turf. I thought we had buried the golf cart but it managed to pull through. There was just no place to avoid the wet turf. After the first it was better.

Rain rain go away!

Like the course layout but it had rained the day before and the day of my round. The course does not drain well.

Good for the price

I’ve played this course a couple of times and enjoy it most days. The green were in the best condition I’ve seen, pace of play was a bit slow and the fairways and bunkers had drainage issues with lots of water or mud in spots. Overall had a great time and was happy with the greens for the price!

Good layout, but the course needs some TLC.

The staff was friendly; however, the course was in rough shape and the torrential rains the day before did not help. I played a total of four times on my vacation, and I have the say that Remington Golf Course had one of the better greens we played on. Good layout, but the course needs some TLC.

Tired course

I like to call a course like this “tired”. You can tell that in its heyday it was probably an awesome place to play. The layout is nice, and the greens were in good shape. however everything else seems to be a bit run down. There was a lot of clover and other invasive grasses on the fairways and the t-boxes could also use some work. Although the carts functioned well, they were in a bit of disrepair with seat damage or other defects. There was also a shower in the run down locker room, but questionable if I would use it. Although the price here (like the also ‘tired’ Kissimmee Country Club next door) makes these courses very affordable, the conditions show it. It’s really too bad.
