ChampionsGate Golf Club - National
About
The National course is a classic American-style layout that rolls through 200 acres of southern woodlands and wetlands. Unique bunkering, tree-lined fairways and intriguing green designs define shot making challenges. In particular, golfers are apt to remember the National for its testing par 3 holes and for the double green shared by holes 4 & 16.

Tough layout
Very beautiful new course, layout is very tough, lots of bunkers! Forces you to lay up or carry them....greens were a hard on the aporoach shots but true and beautiful...would difinetly play it again for the Challenge.....we played the Blue tees....my friend and I are long off the tee so that distance wasn't a problem......but a bunker was waiting for us...
Must play. Awesome greens!
Played the National course. Really enjoyed the overall layout and conditions of tees, fairways, bunkers and greens. GPS on carts always great to have especially using the touch screen to get some layup yardages. The staff was also friendly and welcoming. Only downside was that there was no food service at the restaurant post round because of the wind/rain storm had them shutting down early. The course played extremely difficult with the wind storm we had but it helped that we used the white tees at 5900 yards vs usual length of 6400-6500. Final words, this courses' greens were super smooth and quick and the highlight of the golf trip. Without a doubt the greens were 100% better than any of the other courses I played in the days prior (Disney-Palm, OCN Panther Lake, and Mission Hills El Campeon ). Further I avoided Shingle Creek and Lake Buena Vista as the greens were on the slower side based on what I saw at these courses and feedback from a junior player about LBV. All courses I've listed are good golf club layouts but the greens for me are most important and Champions Gate-National was superior! Great job
Excellent Course
The layout of the course is awesome. Beautiful landscaping and exceptional greens and fairway conditions. I highly recommend this course to future golfers. My only issue with the playability of this golf course is the pace of play. They have two separate courses, but both courses were log jammed. It took five hours to complete the round, which is two hours longer than I care to play. Other than pace of play, which is somewhat out of their control, this course is a definite must to play in the Orlando area.
Played the National course on Wednesday 4/11/18
Everything with one exception was terrific but the slow play of the group in front of us was really hard to put up with. It took away from what otherwise would have been a wonderful day. They played from the blue tees and no one in the group had the skills required to play from there. They waited to hit 2nd shots into greens and never came close to reaching the greens. Not fun!
Fantastic
First time playing. We all (4 of us) loved the course. It is my new favorite course to golf when we come to get away from cold and snow every year.
My only problem was I left my good visor in women’s restroom when we were finished and no one turned it in. This makes me sad.
Excellence
The National course at Omni Championsgate exudes excellence across the board. From conditions of the course to the customer service, everything there was simply 5 Stars. It rained heavily the previous day, but the course dried out nicely and was in excellent condition the day of play. Valet parking, nice GPS systems on carts, club valets, all excellent customer service. Course plays long on the front, especially if the wind is slightly up that day. Completely open so any wind is felt. Back nine wasn’t as long. Play smart. Stay short of bunkers and you shouldn’t have much trouble scoring. Newer greens, noticed much less break throughout the day from them having little grain. Putts stayed straighter. Excellence, must play, looking forward to the a International in a few days.
Sad day
The course was OK the people they teamed us up with or by that I mean they weren’t friendly at all
Champions Gate
Everything with few exceptions was very good. We all rented clubs and the woman in our group got right handed clubs and they gave her a left handed putter. Pro shop employee after round was not very accommodating. Everything else was perfect and the course condition was great.
Great Track!
Visiting Fl from Michigan and have played several courses. This one was fantastic. Greens were not unfair with huge breaks but had subtle ones that were hard to read. Course was pristine. Carts had GPS and maps of each hole. Pace of play was fast with an 11:30 am start. Hot Deal price was a great value and the only way to go if you are out of state as there are local and out of state rates. Our tee time was for 11:10 and we got caught in traffic (PLAN FOR THAT IN THIS AREA). We showed up at 11:25 and they got us out as a twosome with no problems.
we played the National Course early and loved it. Great conditions and fun to play. My two boys and I played several courses in the area on our visit to Orlando. We all good players who play often and this was the best course we played (out of 5). Add it to your list if your playing in the area.
Great shape!
Probably in the best shape of any public course right now. Greens great, boxes great, fairways too... Would play again in a heartbeat.
Great Course
A must play if you can get a decent rate - course is always in excellent condition. Very strong par 5's. Par 3's, with the exception of hole 15, are weaker. Facilities and bar / casual dining always worth a visit
Highly Recommend this Course
Really friendly staff from the moment you arrive through check in to cart issue and the starters. Special kudos to Brian at check in and Cassandra on the drink cart.
Course itself was in very good shape and a real challenging joy to play; special kudos to the great spacing so you don’t feel pushed!
Great Course
Played the course a day after playing the International. All in all I feel it was the better of the two. Aesthetically the course was much better. The greens and fairways were in better shape. The staff treated us very well. I would recommend playing this course and will be back.
Good course, awful ranger
Played the National Course on Monday, 26 March. Course was in good shape, greens looked like they had just been fertilized, pace of play was average (waited on the majority of holes). After holing out on the 6th par 3, the ranger stops us to tell us that we had two open holes ahead of us and we need to pick up the pace. This was news to us given that we had to wait on holes 2 through 6. We just assumed that the foursome ahead us decided to bag on the round. We hustled up to the 7th tee to find the foursome on the 7th fairway! Did the ranger even check the course before hassling golfers? Why have a ranger given that all the carts had GPS?
Great value
Nice fairly open course. Lots of sand but wide fairway. You will enjoy the challenging par 3 15th hope. If you are in the area it is fun course. Staff is very friendly and courteous
Best Course played this year so far
The greens were the best greens I have played, true roll, firm and fast
