Two long par 4s (15 & 16) make for a meaty finish. Photo submitted by BrandonTuckerGA on 06/12/2017
Average course
Greens are barely hanging in there. At least they place the flag in areas of good grass for putting. Get it close or you will have a bumpy line.
Fairways are rock hard with patches of decent grass. You basically need to be center fairway every time to stay in the good grass, otherwise you will be punished with rocks/hard solid dirt/tree roots/etc. sand traps are full of rocks and difficult to get out of due to being firm sand.
They recently (within the last year I believe) replaced their old golf carts with updated models which makes the comfort a lot better experience. Came with a slight price increase but as a rider I can appreciate it. Overall decent if you can’t find a tee time at the other muni’s.
Nice easy course
Course was in good shape . Greens been good all year .
Greens improved tremendously
When I moved here 4 years ago, Riverside was a 2 out of 5 stars at best. Since new management came in, they’ve made some incredible improvements to the greens, and it’s a course I actually enjoy playing. Jimmy Clay always took precedence, but I wouldn’t waste my time or money out there unless I’m hitting the range. Riverside has definitely made its way towards the top of best muny greens in Austin.
Course looking good.
Played this course several times a year. Always enjoy it. Conditions sure have improved year to year. Keep up the good work.
Great for the money
Good golf course for a muni.
Golf course in very good condition, they do need to sod cut and level A LOT of the tee boxes. Fairways were in overall good condition, same for the greens(a few bare spots that were sanded) but not anything to make me not want to play here again soon. In the summer 90+ degrees there is a lot of shade trees, and they do have ample cold water jugs in many of the tee boxes. My only "complaint" is that they do not have a beverage cart that i know of, and the 3 times I've been there, the little grill inside the golf shop building wasn't open. Alway like to support local on course grills but could not. They do sell cold non alcoholic beverages in the golf shop. Putting green great shape, no driving range but does have a 3 station hitting net to loosen up(use your own balls) they are not provided.
Definitely a good course for the people, not fancy but a good test of golf.
Just my 2 cents, but worth it.
Good ol riverside
Love this course, when it has rained a lot the fairways can be kinda watery…played here two days ago and the greens were just In beautiful shape! Some of the best greens I’ve seen there! It’s not overpriced, def worth the money.
Great price & Greens we’re in good shape.
Paid $33 for 18 and a cart. Great value for the course, greens were well maintained - best I’ve seen in Austin lately. Lots of fairway and green bunkers made the course more challenging. Would go again.
