About
The public 18-hole layout, formerly known as the Austin Country Club, was designed by renowned architects, J. Press and Perry Maxwell. It served as teaching grounds for Harvey Penick, as well as Tom Kite and Ben Crenshaw.
Riverside Golf Course challenges and delights players of all skill levels with its mature trees and scenic water hazards. Its convenient location, five minutes from downtown Austin and 10 minutes from the airport, makes it a serene escape without having to leave the city.
Getting there : From Austin, take IH-35 south to Riverside Drive. Go east on Riverside Drive 2.2 miles to Grove Blvd. and turn left. The course entrance is to the left before the community college.

Great value for the miney
Back 9 is a way better than the front - like two different courses. Overall, a great deal. The back 9 is worth the green fees alone.

Soggy but playable
With all the rain, course was wet and cart path only rules. Lost a few balls just off fairway because they can't mow at the moment. But enough dry (less wet) areas to move your ball and have descent shots.
Once it dries, course should be pretty good condition.
And greens were in nice shape overall even with all the rain.

Decent course for the price
Course does not have a very difficult layout. Very straight and very short. Not a bad course for the price however. Would definitely give it a shot if you are local to the Austin area and are somewhat new to golf. Give the white tees a go and enjoy your round.

Muddy and needs Attention
My wife and I were excited to play this course based on previous reviews and the posted pictures from the website and Facebook. First I’d like to say I liked the layout and it was challenging. Unfortunately it had rained hard the day before and there was standing water on many of the holes and soft ground and the rest of it. Because of the conditions it was cart path only, some of the hole had water so high alternate routes were made so you could get to each hole. The greens were not in great shape and needs attention, many bald spots which made putting accurately difficult. Over all not the best experience.

Fantastic Bargain! Highly Recommend
Played this course on Saturday for $40 & it was a steal of a deal. The course is in fantastic shape. Great layout & we finished in less than 4 hours. Will definitely be back.

Nice course
This course is a nice layout. It’s a bit more challenging after rain. The course lies in low areas of rain runoff. It takes at least three to four days to dry all of the way out. Small areas of standing water on a few of the holes still.

Lots of personality and great value
The Riverside course is one that's fairly short and relatively forgiving, but also really well designed around some highly varied terrain. My only wish is that they'd be willing to make water available on the course - after 5pm the cart service stopped, and walking 18 holes without water is actually kind of dangerous.

Hands down the worst golf course I’ve ever played
The fairways are terrible
The greens are terrible
Terrible layout
The bunkers are like hitting out of clay
The pace of play was terrible
There’s no clubhouse with covid
To top it off, there’s no driving range - they have a net you it in at the first tee.
