About
The public 18-hole layout, formerly known as the Austin Country Club, was designed by renowned architects, J. Press and Perry Maxwell. It served as teaching grounds for Harvey Penick, as well as Tom Kite and Ben Crenshaw.
Riverside Golf Course challenges and delights players of all skill levels with its mature trees and scenic water hazards. Its convenient location, five minutes from downtown Austin and 10 minutes from the airport, makes it a serene escape without having to leave the city.
Getting there : From Austin, take IH-35 south to Riverside Drive. Go east on Riverside Drive 2.2 miles to Grove Blvd. and turn left. The course entrance is to the left before the community college.

Excellent condition
As a result of decent rains this year and the grounds crew, the course was in excellent condition. Almost felt like a private country club course except that the greens and fairways were more forgiving. Friendly staff at the course as well.

Great value
Not very crowded. Friendly staff. Course in much better condition than a lot of much pricier courses.

Nice Layout
Course in nice condition overall. Greens a little rough on front 9 but very good on back 9. Fairways nice shape overall, some wet areas to be expect with amount of rain the past weeks. Try to make sure sand bottles are filled before you start play. We had two bottles both basically empty when we went to refill our divots on fairway.
would have been nice if we had sand in them.
Otherwise, very enjoyable round, will be back.

Pace of play was awful. It would be great to have a volunteer Marshall or someone check for pace of play 1 or 2 times per round.

Last minute plan to play and picked this one. Glad to have chosen this course, it was an awesome experience, loved it and would definitely play again. Whole course was just awesome.

The course was great but golf now was not
Golf now didn’t communicate my tee time reservation to the golf course so I got there and didn’t have one booked but the staff squeezed me in on a Saturday before the 4th of July

Greens need to improve
The greens are chewed up. The course management needs to improve; it took more than 4hrs 45 minutes to complete 18 hole round . Extremely slow

Better than expected
Other than a few greens and tees being a little bare, course was in good shape. Kind of a strange layout with bac to back par 3’s and 5’s but a good mix of holes. Enjoyed our day!

Course is Eh…
They overbooked the course. Most of the tee boxes are filled with sand. Greens are in rough shape. Course layout is lots of short par 4’s. Saying all that, it wasn’t the worst I’ve seen but I would rather spend more money and play a real course.

Friendly course and friendly staff!
With all the rain the course was in great shape. Greens were very nice and rolled true.
Micheal (manager, course pro) was very helpful and is always knowledgeable about the course and greens.
The course layout is challenging but yet score worthy if your striking the ball well.
