Eastpointe Country Club - East Course

Positive change does not always require a full teardown-and-rebuild approach. At Eastpointe East, architect John Sanford took what original architect George Fazio built and looked to enhance it, rather than put his own stamp on the course. Humility is a virtue in situations like this, as the course still feels very much of its era but enjoys just enough updates – slightly more sophisticated bunker positioning and green contouring, mostly – to have clearly taken a healthy step forward into its next half-century of life.

Today, was a good surprise for me especially playing a private club. This club was combined with another in the same community. The courses are called the east and west course now. I played the west course and it was great. The fairways were average for the most part with a few under repair especially before the green. The greens were great all the way from the condition to the speed. The course plays long even though from the tips are 5900. A lot of different challenges that make you use all your clubs in bag. Need to have a good short game to compete here. Sit back and enjoy the course and have fun.

Starting with my arrival, the staff was friendly and very professional. Free range balls, the practice putting was fantastic, practice chipping area is very well maintained too. I had contacted them, because I am playing there in a tournament this week and asked if I could play a round to see the place and they said yes, without any hesitation. I have played more expensive places down here, that are less than half the course of this place. Even the other patrons were wonderful too.
