Some good holes, some meh...
I was really looking forward to playing Eastpointe, but after having played the West Course, I was sort of disappointed. For a members only club, the golf course was kind of underwhelming. On to the review, the moment I arrived to the clubhouse, you can definitely tell that you're in a fancy place, with all the ammenities worthy of a country club. The practice facilities were superb, a little scattered from each other but superb. After getting a little practice time, I went on to the golf course. This time around I got to play at the West Course. The first hole is very impressive, with a huge lake right in front of you that does not forgive any drives to the left. We played from the tips as the total yardage was less than 6,100 yards. The course conditions tee to green were phenomenal. The ony disappointing thing is that some of the holes were great looking, but some others were just bland and not worthy of a country club. Overall, you can tell that this course was built around a residential complex, rather than the residential complex built around the club. Personally, I don't get why the rich folks pay such steep country club fees to play courses like this. I do however want to get invited back to Eastpointe to play the East Course, maybe the East course is the real representation of Eastpointe.
