Oaks course conditions
This course is very playable and challenging for all levels. Bunkers are the weak link on this course as they are large and need maintainence badly. Many have no rakes and most all are full of stones. Green speed was good but are bumpy from heavy play with ball marks.
Decent Course, could be better
I played here because the round was a bit cheaper than the other available courses. I played in mid-January, so that could be the reasoning, however, I was a bit disappointed in the shape of the tee boxes & greens. The round took 4.5 hours. The value was decent as it was only $60 for a round + cart, however, the other courses I have played in the area that are in the $90-$100 range are significantly better maintained.
Horrible course
Round was slow and overbooked. Greens were in poor condition, and pace of play was poor. Further no marshals on the course and also no amenities.
Great Course
First time playing this course. I really enjoyed the layout, overall it was in very good condition for a public, busy course. The value for the cost is excellent in my opinion. Look forward to playing here in the future!
Rip Off - Terrible course
This place is terrible. The starter was overwhelmed and completely disorganized. Ended up having me play the Cypress course instead and about 30 minutes after my start time. Could not complete the round due to late start, slow play, and darkness.
Also I was a solo player and they charge $35 for a solo cart fee. That is more than half the cost of the round. Complete rip off...especially considering there is a pandemic going on.
All staff members were rude and incapable of performing the basics of their jobs.
Course is in terrible condition...divots on the greens, dead grass, rocks in the sand traps with terrible sand.
Nice layout, fair conditions
Do realize this in January and conditions are not the greatest. Greens were good, yet very slow. Very enjoyable and playable for all levels..
Fun course
This course was fun. Lots of bunkers. Greens were soft but fast, fairways were in good shape. Snow birds make it miserable, course needs to regulate them looking for balls every hole
Great courses
Played the oaks course. Course was in great condition. Played early morning, great pace of play and the staff is the best!!!
Best Course at Palm Aire
Afte playing all three courses at the Palm Aire resort, the Oaks is the best of the three. Greens are much nicer, layout is varied and challenging with water on quite a few holes; fairways are pristine and there are lots of great views to take in. For $45 in the winter it's a great deal...and beats trying to golf in Chicago!
