Don't find yourself in here, on a par 3 on the back 9! Photo submitted by stratsville on 04/13/2013
Pleasantly Surprised
Haven't been here in over 10 months as conditions were getting rough. However we played on Saturday and the course was in great shape. The Greens rolled at about a 10 on the stump and rolled true. Pace of play for the weekend was excellent. All in all it was a great day. Will definitely come back.
A little steep price for a not so great a course.
The course is wide open with little trouble. The bunker sand was awesome but fairways and greens need some help. Not fair to judge the staff because of COVID19 scare.
Used to be nice!
Course sucks -not worth the money! Last time I’ll play here! It won’t be long before they are building housing on this course also!
Well done
Conditions were excellent, you can tell the course was well maintained during the shutdown. Well done!
Beautiful Layout
I can only imagine if they have keep up and remodel the grass and the green how beautiful this course would be. I love the layout. I've played Cypress twice. It's been awhile, but it was in better condition than OAKS. I would like to go back to play Cypress. Hopefully, it's better than Oaks.
Just need some TLC
the course condition was less then exciting. I did not expect perfect conditions by any means but the fairways were causing flyers. The greens rolled quite well and were faster than usual, but any putt over a few feet was going through multiple different "terrains" the layout is a fun layout, and if the course would spend just a little time on the minor details the course could make a turn around to be a goto course in the area. I actually prefer the Pines course over the Oaks in the current conditions. With a that being said, please don't take this as negative, the course was still very playable, and for the standard weekend warrior they will have fun and enjoy the course. I am giving my review as a scratch golfer who is normally spoiled with higher end semi private or fully private courses..
The pace was great today. We teed off about 10 min late which is no problem, and we finished in just under 4 hours with only a few waits mainly because any ball in the rough was hard to find, every ball sat down below the grass which is not a complaint, I have no problem with penal rough. But finding balls was tough which slowed everyone down a little. There are not a lot of tee time options for Saturday mornings during the pandemic and with 3 courses. Palm Aire has been my back up course when other courses are fully booked. Beverage cart was around when you needed it which is great especially since during the pandemic there are no water coolers or drinking fountains on the course (and the same at every course here in S. FLORIDA. all in all. For the price, the course is a deal, but it would be great for the course to get just a little TLC. Today will not stop me from coming back, but I know what to expect. But a first timer or someone who hasn't been there in years, just needs to have an open mind.
Tee boxes a bit shabby, but overall very enjoyable!
Yikes.
Let me start by saying I never review anything cause I don’t think it’s worth my time and effort. Until today. I played the the Oakes course yesterday, as I arrived I was immediately informed by the staff that I was early to my tee time and and all practice greens/driving ranges were closed. The course layout was confusing in design and felt like I was off tossing while driving into the “cart paths”. The course is invaded by condominiums And has no visual appeal.
I would not be writing this review if it wasn’t for what has happened since finding my round. I mistakenly left my 56 degree wedge on the 17th hole and have been unable to get ahold of anyone who can tell me if they have the club or not. I am currently on vacation and don’t want to spend time and effort driving to the course with out confirming that it’s there. Which I have been unable to after calling the club house over 10 times with no answer. It’s actually impossible to
Get ahold of the clubhouse and or anyone on their staff. Have my club at this point.
Cart broke down and nobody to help
Course was fine but staff and equipment not great. Cart broke down on third hole. Phone numbers to clubhouse as well as number for “cart issues” went to voicemail with nobody responding. Not only a huge pain but also a liability issue like if really an emergency absolutely nobody to help and nobody to call. Had to call the reservation line 1800 number/calll center 6 times for them to try to get ahold of someone to help. 45 mins later after my group was holes multiple holes ahead not even an apology. First guy said I’ll let them know. At the end of my round I talked to starter and again no apology no sorry no what can we do to make it right, just a comment wow yeah your cart was the only one with a problem today... Needless to say I won’t be back, as a local I’ll just find another course.
