Don't find yourself in here, on a par 3 on the back 9! Photo submitted by stratsville on 04/13/2013
Played Cypress Instead of Oaks
We were suppose to play oaks but man at front desk suggested we play cypress since it is in better shape. Glad we did. Have played it before. Fairways and greens in good shape. Tee boxes need some help. We were a twosome and finished in less than 3 hrs. Love the layout.
The Mighty Oaks!
The greens and fairways were beautiful: Well groomed and challenging without making you want to throw your clubs in some nearby body of water. The tee boxes were pretty beat up, it is true; however, every tee box should only require one shot from you unless you are a Mulligan Mulvaney. Otherwise, most were fine anyway. The staff is always great and friendly. I went with my father and we had a great time. I will be coming again, although I heard the Palms is now the course to see and less expensive.
Tired Track
Played the Oakss Course . Many tees in horrible shape and grass in fairways was inconsistent at best. Greens were in decent shape. Would find another course... not a good value for greens fee .
Play Every Spring Break
Over the years, I have enjoyed the Palm Aire courses, especially The Oaks course, but surely "GOING DOWN HILL", some tees not mowed anymore and weeds in places there never was in past years; sad : (
terrific round
terrific round at a terrific course..this course is run like a well oiled machine with the human touch...matched with another nice couple who played at the same pace as us..all around terrific day!
Nice layout, Some embarrassing conditions
Nice layout, but some holes had tee pads that were rediculously bad. They were basically weeds and sand. Some spots on fairways had no grass as well.
Too bad for this as it is a nice layout. Most greens were decent.
I’d play it again if they overseed it.
Paid $51 on GolfNow and played the Oaks course in 3 hours (started at 7:25 am in a twosome).
Good guys in shop and outside.
Please replace the tee boxes
Nice layout of course and the greens are nice. The tee boxes are horrible! Dollar weeds and dirt at most of them. I suggest resoding all the tee boxes.
Oaks at Palm Aire
Played this course with a golfing buddy that had played it a couple times before. Enjoyed playing it and would play it again. The course was in good shape with the exception of the tee boxes. Some had a fair amount of dirt on them and others were very weedy. The greens and fairways were real good.
I don’t understand
The only thing good about this course are the greens, although they are VERY slow. The fairways are horrible and the tee boxes just down right pathetic. How in God’s name do you allow your tee boxes to be covered in clover? Just awful! Also, the SAND provided to repair divots is better quality than that in the bunkers. This course (and Cypress) could be phenomenal if better managed.
Needs TLC
Tee boxes awful. Full of weeds. Fairways and greens good. Pace of play too slow.
Poor course conditions
This golf course is in bad condition...tee boxes were covered in weeds. Looks like no money has been spent on this golf course in quite awhile. Way over priced for the conditions.
Beautiful day
Tee boxes really need some work. The rest of course was ok. The couple I played with had played here before and said pace of play was better than what they were use to.
O.K.
Thought the course in general was OK but the tee's were rather worn out and bare. Greens Ok but thought a little expensive for what it was.
Needs Work
The course shows its wear and misuse. The greens are in average condition while the fairways and rough are thin. The pace was a little slow as some players were as usual using tee boxes that were over their heads.
Mediocre
At least you can always get out. As long as you stay in the Fairways it’s decent but just a lot more TLC and it would be a great course again
Friendly Staff!!
We were greeted with smiles by everyone we encountered upon arrival. Water driving range was unique! Course has a lot of water on it but the fairways are wide enough that it really is not a factor. Course needs some work!! Tee boxes were pretty rough!! Fairways were just OK and 1st cut of rough was a bit deep. Bunkers and washout areas could really use some work. Greens were in excellent condition and putted smooth and true!! Plenty of staff on hand to deal with your needs. Concession cart came by multiple times during the round. Pace of play was decent Pretty good value for this course and we will probably play it again in the future.
