Great Outing
Not bad for a mid day Saturday round of golf. The course is in great shape and we finished in 4 hours 15 minutes.
Favorite golf course to play when we are at the beach
Glenn Lakes is our favorite course to play when we are at the beach. We have played this course fo over 15 years. It's in great shape. Best value for a great course.
Review of Glenn Lakes Golf Course.
My golf cart had duck tape on the seat. The seat should be replaced. My wife did not play, but rode with me. I HAD TO $44.00 FOR HER TO RIDE ALONG IN MY CART AND I WAS PLAYING TWO OTHER PLAYERS. I had to pay for a cart fee and we did not use another cart. This was the last time we will play at Glenn Lakes.
Lots of rolling hills
It’s a nice course, just a lot of rolling hills. People are friendly, well ran.
Strange but fun
Wife and I played at Glenlakes for the first time Memorial Day Weekend. Started on the Dunes, had an Ireland vibe but without all the tall grass in the roughs. Position golf. Then played the Lakes which is wide open. Enjoyed the courses. We will be back!
Great course, decent greens
I'm pretty new to golf but loved the course design. Greens were in pretty great shape minus a few that had what I can only describe as some lines running straight across with no grass. Like 1inch in width but spanned the entire green. The only thing I wasn't a fan of was the pace. I played solo and group of 3 in front let me play through. But by the time I got to hole 6 there were groups of 4 and 5 on almost every hole ahead so it really started to drag.
Mother’s Day golf outing
Course great condition, wife had great time, pace a little slower than usual, staff friendly and courteous as expected, local resident who enjoys this layout and the team that keeps it immaculate.
Greens were in rough shape - layout was good
My buddies and I just returned home from our annual beach/golf trip. We played Kiva Dunes, Peninsula, GlenLakes and Perdido Bay. Peninsula is at the top of that list. We found the back 9 pin positions at Kiva dunes to be incredibly difficult. One of my buddies friends recommended GlenLakes to us. I am not sure but am guessing the greens were punched recently. The greens were shaggy and very slow. They almost had a sponge like texture under your feet. My buddies frankly did not like the course and don't want to play it again. I reminded them this was the most inexpensive course we played during the week and the layout was pretty good. Had the greens been mowed and had any decent speed to them I think it would be a fine course and I would be happy to play it again. We decided we would put Kiva on the back burner in the future and always play Peninsula and Perdido Bay. Will probably play Craft Farms and Lost Key next year as well. GlenLakes may be on the alternate list if we can't get a tee time at one of the other courses.
Pray for the greens!
Played 2 times in last week. Afternoon pace of play: SLOW. 7:15 am pace of play: PERFECT (I played solo).
The condition of the greens is concerning: slow pace (they obviously don't roll them, short of 'wooly'. Several greens have wet spots and disease... about 1/2 of the greens on the Vista 9 were damaged by leaking hydraulic fluid from a mower... ouch. Will take forever to recover. Bring a seat cushion as the cartpaths are in great need of repair. Layout has always been great and condition of fairways and rough is good, although some fairways WAY overwatered.
Fun time
Fairways good for most part, greens slow but true, recovering from some winterkill. Very organized staff as they process lots of play.
Will return
Freindly Marshall , great pace of play got off early B4 front nine greens where mowed . Back 9 greens mich faster . Excellent layout .
