Disappointed
This course lost its greens during the snow of December 2025 here on the Gulf Coast. They are still in pretty poor shape with bare dirt in places. The course was soggy in many places-even a tee box was squishy on the back nine. The people are nice, but the course is in need of a serious greens keeper!
Getting Better
With the warmer weather and rain lately, the greens and fairways are improving. Greens are still hard to read due to uneven grass growth.
Casual water and weeds
The course was The Lakes course. Every hole had areas of casual water or mud from over watering. The greens had sprouts of weeds throughout. When you attempted a putt, it was a like a game of Plinko with the ball bouncing along the weeds causing missed putts and impossible reads.. We waited on every hole. There were so many golfers in front, that we waited before the tee box, on the tee box, and in the fairway on each hole. Ridiculous conditions to have to wait to play.
fast round
teed off , never saw anyone else the whole round. great to play with no one slowing down or pushing you round.
Greens
Great course but the greens aren’t in the best shape for the price you’re paying, albeit fall conditions, but the fairways and tee boxes were fine. Everything else is top notch, but the greens are in better shape elsewhere for right now. Will be back and would recommend if $80+ isn’t a big deal.
First time
Played the dunes/ vista 18 today. Dunes is harder for sure with mounds making for uneven lies just off fairways. Greens were quick but pretty smooth. Pace of play was slower on this side. Vista was a bit more forgiving , overall a good value for the price . Pro shop ppl were nice . Would play again
a poor experience
A very disappointing day; course overall in pretty poor condition. Very crowded but most twosomes and singles were not paired up so that pace of play was excruciatingly slow. Left after first 9 holes that took nearly 3 hours to complete. Unlikely to return.
still a pleasure
even when I play badly I enjoy this course. Glen Lakes is the best value and maintained course of the 3 closest to me.
