Salado Del Rio at Fort Sam Houston Golf Course

About
Fort Sam Houston is home to two 18-hole courses, Salado Del Rio and La Lorna. The Salado del Rio course is the more scenic of the two, offering spectacular views of the rustic countryside. The historic facility boasts some famous players including Sam Snead and Arnold Palmer. The layout is also more difficult than the other championship course at the club due to the presence of numerous blind shots and water hazards. Both Fort Sam Houstan golf courses feature tight, tree-lined fairways and greens that are medium in both size and speed. In addition to the two golf courses, Fort Sam Houston also houses extensive practice facilities including a practice chipping green and lighted driving range.

Reviews
The only problem was they had no record of the booking time and reservation time but the course staff made sure we got off to play.. This was my first time to book a time and want sure why they had no record of confirmation number.
Nice Course
Salado Del Rio was in really good shape. The greens were smooth and very quick. There were some issues with my Golfnow reservation. The guy working in the pro shop fixed it for me. I wasn't aware that I had to bring in a copy of the email and a picture of it on my phone wasn't good enough. Thanks again to the employee. A marshal roaming the course would be helpful to keep people moving.
Very enjoyable
Great course. Love the challenge. Few water leaks should be fixed and some cleanup would make it even better.
Reservations
So did catch flak for not calling directly. Seems only one guy checks emails for tee off reservations and he was out a few days...single point of failure... clerk tried to say it was my fault/problem.
Salido
The course was in pretty good condition, however having a course marshall to ensure pace of play would be good. Front 9 took almost 3hrs, asked to play through on next par 3, they ignored the request.
Very nice
Green full fairways and greens. Very good shape. Nice
Fun To Play
Helpful friendly staff. Practice ball were not available when we wanted to warmup. Extremely hot so pace of play was very important. Great time on a challenging layout.
You need to play the course more once to play well.
The course has many doglegs so you have to play it more then once to understand the strategic layout. The staff treated us very nicely and the price from GolfNow was excellent.
