TPC Tampa Bay can be as challenging as the golfer wants it to be. But be prepared to pay the price for taking the risks. Located just a 20-minute ride from the Tampa International Airport in Lutz, TPC Tampa Bay is open to the public seven days a week. A Bobby Weed design, TPC Tampa Bay is part of a network of courses owned and operated by PGA Tour Golf Course Properties. The fairways have subtle movement and weave through lakes and natural wetlands - 19 in all - and around strategic bunkers that number 81. The greens are large (averaging 6,400 square feet) and undulating, and most are open in the front, offering golfers the option of hitting run-up approach shots. There's a clubhouse and a fully stocked golf shop offering a complete line of equipment and apparel from the top names in golf to complement the course.

I was paired up with a member, who provided some useful tips for most holes. Even though he was on oxygen, he was still managing pars. You can play this course from any set of tees and have a good challenge. The course was in excellent shape. The Greens were fast but fair.

TPC Tampa is a great course, very fun to play. The course is open, forgiving and challenging. The greens need work and so do the tee boxes. Not all of them, but enough to question the value at premium prices.

Excellent course

Course was in great condition, perfect greens with true roll, and fast. Rough is thick, and you don’t want to be in it because it’s basically like taking a penalty stroke. It was slow due to a golf group in front of us, but the ranger did try to speed them up.

Nice greens and fairways

This course is really in very good shape at greens and fairways. Rough can get a bit unfair when it’s not cut low enough. Finding balls barely off the fairways sometimes is irritating and slows pace of play when it shouldn’t be this hard. Sloped hill sides are enough of a challenge so letting rough grow too long bas been an issue for this course for course. Really can slow down pace of play. Oh well. Fun track and an excellent challenge. Good value when under $100. Not a $150 course as it is a lot of times.

Great experience from the bag drop until I walked off the property. Excellent layout which allows for scoring if you are in the fairway..

Definitely would play here again for the twilight rate. Greens roll true. Though I really enjoyed the round, when a ball broached the rough, it was hard to find if at all.
