TPC Tampa Bay

As a higher handicap golfer I was a bit anxious to play this course, after the first hole I was pleasantly surprised at how much better I can play when you have near perfect course conditions . My ball contact was not influenced by poor grass cover or bare spots even in the rough and putts went where expected on the manicured greens . Congrats to the course maintenance crew. Ranger and other Staff were very friendly and professional. Finished in under 4 hours. Yes for the average gofer it was a bit pricey but you generally get what you pay for.

Good value for the money. Hard course...lots of water and bunkers, but I definitely play their again.

The TPC name has cache and TPC Tampa tries to live up to that The course design, the clubhouse and the staff all try to convey that peek into the professional players domain but the course is just getting too much play. The round lasts well over four hours and the conditions of the greens are beat up from ball marks that are never fixed. The tees are similarly beaten up. Play the course to say that you did but don’t expect the conditions to impress you

Here is my take on this course - if you want decent conditions and a fair challenge, this is a good course for it. That said, you can find decent conditions at a lot of courses. None of the holes on the course, or really any vista or portion of the course made me step back and say, "wow".

Now, I don't expect all courses to wow me, but when I found the cheapest price of the day (not a hot deal) to be $100 less per person than any other rate they had and it was still $159 per player, I do expect a better than average golf experience.

I expect someone to be grabbing my bag from my trunk when I pull up. I expect portions of the course and its design to be truly memorable. I expect some post-round service that makes me want to hang out for a while and continue to enjoy the place. NONE of this really exists at TPC Tampa Bay. It's a very ordinary place, and honestly I could have played a course like a Plantation Palms for the same price almost for our entire foursome as I paid for just one of us, and gotten the same experience for the most part.

The good - the greens rolled well and the fairways were fair. Neither were lush though and had patchwork all over them. The greens were so firm that a 60 degree wedge that I am sure I hit with some spin from 75 yards out released about 45 feet when it hit the green.

I think if the price had been in line with the quality of the course, this review would be much better.

Our experience at TPC Tampa was excellent. The course conditions were great, weather was excellent, pace of play outstanding and the course was really fun to play.

The course was in great shape. They just redid the greens, so they are playing very firm, but roll true. Pace of play was not good. They are spacing out tee times every 11 minutes, so you’re basically waiting for the group in front of you on every shot. Makes for a less great experience.

Second time playing the TPC and the improvements are certainly noticeable they made. Course was in terrific shape. Greens hard as a rock but true and great condition. Couple bare spots but expected with new greens. What was frustrating was pace of play. Round pushed 5 hours and 20 minutes and had a group in front of us who seemed like they didn’t know what they were doing. Ranger finally came out on the back 9 but waited on every tee shot to go. Would certainly go back but probably will after the tourists leave.

Great course, new greens are hard and firm! Approach shot will bounce over ! Great shape. Ok value for the price. Tourist will do it. Locals will go elsewhere

In town visiting for work and was recommended this course by a friend. The course itself was in good shape but lies around the greens were iffy. I paid the twilight rate of $120 which I thought was fair but I don’t think it’s worth the $220+ they charge for earlier rounds. I’ve played much nice courses for this price range. Overall I would still recommend for an afternoon round.

Was a nice coarse. Staff very friendly & helpful. Started sooon as I pulled up to drop my clubs off.

This was my second round at TPC Tampa Bay. The course itself has not changed much, which is a good thing because the layout is pretty simple and straightforward. Green complexes were in good condition and rolling pure. Several fun holes, including 17, a challenging par 3. Overall, it’s worth the trip if you’re visiting Tampa area.

2:05 tee time. Front 9 was a little slow. Back 9 horrible. There was zero rangers out managing pace of play. Stuck on hole 15 for 25 minutes waiting to tee off. Some random single came out of nowhere and joined the 4 some in front of us. We left after that. Absolutely the worst run golf course I’ve ever payed. Will not play again and will never recommend this course.

Overpriced and the 4 stars must be a mistake.

The course is ok staff miserable and zero water or beverage cart.
