TPC Tampa Bay can be as challenging as the golfer wants it to be. But be prepared to pay the price for taking the risks. Located just a 20-minute ride from the Tampa International Airport in Lutz, TPC Tampa Bay is open to the public seven days a week. A Bobby Weed design, TPC Tampa Bay is part of a network of courses owned and operated by PGA Tour Golf Course Properties. The fairways have subtle movement and weave through lakes and natural wetlands - 19 in all - and around strategic bunkers that number 81. The greens are large (averaging 6,400 square feet) and undulating, and most are open in the front, offering golfers the option of hitting run-up approach shots. There's a clubhouse and a fully stocked golf shop offering a complete line of equipment and apparel from the top names in golf to complement the course.

Course in excellent condition

It's TPC, you expect it to be good, but it was REALLY in good shape. Greens fast but not ridiculous, the whole course was in better condition than last time we played it. Water in play on most holes but overall generous landing areas on those holes and no crazy forced carries. There were a TON of maintenance people out on the front nine working on tiny details like they were prepping for a tournament... maybe they are. In any event, course was in excellent condition, you'd have no idea we were in a drought. Couple of dicey tee boxes on the par 3's but other than that, really good condition. All staff excelent.

Fix the warm up range!

Everything was great except hitting balls on the range out of the mud. Clubs muddy, shoes muddy and absolutely no grass at all.

Nice grass adjacent to where we had to hit balls. Please explain that.

Otherwise Everything else was great.

Fix the dang range or put in matts!

Best Course I have ever played

I was a little skeptical to play this course based on some of the reviews I read that said the course was dry. I played this course for the first time Friday morning (05/09) and was the first tee time out. The course was by far and away the most green and lush course I have ever played. I had an excellent time here and an excellent experience. Staff was friendly and helpful and prepared me for the challenges that the course would present. I was informed by the staff that there was a relatively new manager who has been keeping the course in prestige condition. I assume the reviews of the course being dry were prior to this new manager. This was my favorite course I’ve ever played and I would reccomend it to anyone!

Crazy Golfer

We ran into a crazy golfer. Staff knew about him but did nothing. golfer was solo playing multiple balls. swearing at golfers and trying to fight with them. The staff found it funny. but when your trying to have a good time on an expensive course. they should have done something.

Thought the course was fun to play. Greens were very slick and challenging. Fairways were in good condition. Thought the price was a little high for this course. We played a couple of courses on this trip and this course was much higher cost then the others that in my opinion were comparable.
