Course needs much more maintenance.

The fairways are in rough shape, and the rough around the greens are very spotty. Hard to get a good lie around the greens. Not worth the money for a 6 her round of golf. Slowest round of golf in years. Course doesn't understand how to spread tee times out far enough so ther is not 4 groups on one hole. I don't care how the weather or day of the week. It is unexplainable for that to happen. First and last time playing at this course.

the weather broke the snow in most area's was gone a patch here and a pile there yes. there was about an hour and a half delay a mass of die hards where carted up,, spinning the last remnants of their coffee and swilling it down, a flask or 2 where popping in and out of golf bags ciggarette smoke blended with cigar smoke as we all impatiently waited the horn. The spokesman for the course came out on the balcony and announced a shotgun start ,finally. It was a bumper car scene as you can imagine getting to the path to your starting hole. needless to say I had the group who insisted we where on the wrong box and insisted we didn't get the place correct called the clubhouse to verify the group. They were informed we were all in the right place and they where the extra group. We teed off with 2 guys from Norwood who are golf travelers. The course wasn't bad overall, but some greens still had snow on them. This is why I'm writing this. In all the time that we waited,, why wouldn't someone go shovel off the snow. Maybe it isn't that simple it may damage the greens etc.. Its been a few months since we played there and yes kinda past its prime to do any story telling my point is all the waiting that was done didnt seem like they cared more than beyond the cash register. I suggest sunflower seeds on the snow on the greens,, the black seeds draw the suns warmth helping to speed the melt off, the the birds and critters help clean it off. Until next year Patriots Glen,,,well most likely not.

The course is in good condition, greens are firm and putts roll well. If there has been any rain in the last week then 2 of the par 5s and one par 4 will be cart path only due to poor drainage. The course is long for seniors being a little over 6,000 yards at the senior tees. Overall it is a good course and all of the holes have a different look. This course has come a long way since it reopened and the staff seems committed to improving the overall condition and services of the course. I would recommend this course to anyone.

We had golfed Patriots Glen many years ago and loved it. Then it was let go and closed. New owners have reopened it and it is on the way back. I was very surprised by the improvement and would like to commend the new owners. One area that needs attention is the sand traps. They were washed out and need more sand. Hey, Rome was not built in a day. Anyhow, hope to play there again.

Staff was friendly & accomodating. Went out of their way to make up for a delay. Course is much improved with new ownership.

Need to give them more time to get course back to good condition before being closed down for a few years. Felt like we were treated as a second class golfers because we got a Hot Deal ($18) on Golf Now. Pro told us we had to wait until our tee time even though there was no one on the tee. This was because we were Golf Now customer. Use GN often and never had this happen.

I enjoyed my first round at Patriots Glenn and will return again. The lay out and winding Cart paths were a. Welcome change.

This course surprised me. I had not read any reviews before playing. The recent reviews have it right. It is in surprisingly good shape. Greens were great. Fairways good - not patchy at all. Tees were fine. Bunkers will get better, I presume. It is a course design thru mostly woods that you can remember the routing when you finish. Not always happen. Nice elevation changes, doglegs, bunker placements.
The only suggestion I have is to shorten the course from the gold tees. 6k+ is just too long for the older golfer. Even from the red tees it is a bit long for women.

Reading the reviews posted here over the past few months I would have skipped this course. However, a friend played it recently and told me it was in good shape. He was right and we had a nice round. The staff was very friendly and accommodating from the pro shop to the snack cart girl. The course is in decent shape given the time it has been back in operation. I already have a tee time for this weekend to play again. The only problem we had was a qualifier ahead of us in a five-some that were playing very slow. We kept the beer cart busy which negatively impacted our game, lol. But we still had a nice day out. The Shriners from NUR Temple played there the day before us and had good things to say as well.

Played today. Guy at the front desk (Josh?) Was very friendly. Layout is good, course conditions were average but I heard always improving. No complaints though, fairways were fine so were greens. Some of the bunkers could be in better shape but not horrible.. tee boxes were fine. Glad I played it and added another course in my list. This course & Chisel are nice changes from Rock, Deerfield etc. My buddy & I finished in less than 4 hours but were hit up on 3 holes in a row (one hitting his hand). Haven't had this type of poor course courtesy anywhere.. the one time were 2 younger guys, later is was an older single. Nothing to do with the course or staff or even ranger. Seemed odd it happened multiple times even though we were moving at a good pace. Golfer just impatient here or just rude? Or maybe we just were unlucky with other golfer course etiquette. That being said we will play again.

Course need some TLC but it's starting to take shape. Would play again at a discounted rate. Would wait a little before paying full price.

I gave it a good rating because the green swere so nice. Fairways have been over seeded . All in all things are getting better from the last time i played a month ago.
Friendly staff and good food was a bonus.

My first round of golf at Patriots Glen was a lot of fun. My son and I got in a great round of golf. The weather was great, we had another golfer join us and really enjoyed our afternoon. The course conditions need to continue to improve and I am hoping the new mangement sticks with the upkeep. You can certainly tell the course had sat idle for a while. I did enjoy the layout and expect this course to be even better the next time I play.

after being closed for two years and under new ownership they are working hard to bring it back into shape. Efforts show. Nice layout and once it's condition is back will be a great play. Still enjoyable in present condition. Need to address bunkers.

This course is coming back into form. You need to realize, the previous owners didn't touch the course for a year, so its going to take a little time from the new management team to make it perfectly lush again. But conditions were pretty good for what the course used to be. You can tell they are putting the time to bring it back.

Greens are in good shape.

Make sure your straight off the tee boxes.

First off I will say I have golfer here twice, the owner has made leaps and bounds with the course conditions. The bunkers are well maintained and the fairways have grown in beautifully with Bermuda grass. The greens are fast and undulating. Completely under rated course. I live over an hour away and its the only course worth traveling that distance for. If you want a challenge this is the course. It's never crowded but it won't be for long this is the type of course that will host a PGA event and get a ton of exposure. Play it before!!! The prices are very reasonable and if your like me the 3 o'clock twilight rate is great. Last thing the owner (Wes) works in the pro shop and is the course pro and is extremely nice he gave us tips and explained the course. He didn't hold us up but he gave us some great pointers. It's good to see a new course owned by someone that loves golf; it really shiws in the details of the course.

This course is fair for the price. But the fairways are way too dried up! Course is a little long from the golds, but overall playable if you hit it straight ( 200 yard drive and 180 w/3 wood).

I hesitated to write a review since the new mgmt. has taken over this course since they did make an investment and I hope they succeed, but I must warn my golf community that there are a lot of other courses to spend your money.

First - I play golf 2X/week and I am a 14 handicap so I play a lot of golf. I have not played this course since it went downhill a few years before it closed. I took a chance coming back since it was advertised as "on it's way back"....

Here are the details. 1) Almost all of the fairways have a lot of bare patches. Most of the bare patches have black mold. The places where grass exists look like the grass was not fertilized because there is no knap for the ball to sit up on. 2) There is no sand in the bunkers. I was in 1 bunker and when I grabbed the rake to "fluff up the packed sand/dirt the rake had no teeth in it. 3) The person checking me in said the greens were almost back. I have to say there were 3 greens that were decent. 4) Many greens had bare spots around the throat of the green that caused weird bounces. 5) Much of the rough did not appear to be cut for a week, maybe because they got a lot of rain, but there were places where the grass was 4-5 inches long and laying over. 6) There was no soap in the men's room. 7) I have to say playing there actually caused my game to go backwards......

I hate to rake the place over the coals, but I just cannot see how they are going to invest in this place to make it a course people will gravitate to.
