The aptly named Hidden Valley Golf Club feels secluded set between two large hillsides, amongst carefully preserved boulder outcroppings, ravines, and an abundance of native flora and fauna. The challenging layout demands accuracy and it will also test your shot-making skills. Golfers should expect to utilize every club in their bag. The golf course features tight fairways lined with mature trees, tricky doglegs, and multi-tiered greens that can be difficult to read. The rolling terrain also promises difficult uphill and downhill lies. Bunkers are strategically placed throughout and there is water on a few holes. A windy day adds yet another formidable element to the challenging design. The diverse layout has a mix of difficult par 3s, reachable par 5s, and a few birdie opportunities. Hidden Valley Golf Club will definitely test your skills, but five sets of tees make the course more approachable to a wide range of skill levels.

Pace of play

Excellent course but be prepared for a 5-6 hour round . Carts are slow due to hill clubs and descents. The food area has a lot of events so it’s closed often don’t expect food some times.

Definitely need a marshal to control slow players so everyone can enjoy... For an example, two groups in front of us hitting 3-4 shots while two other groups are waiting at the tee box. At the same time, they also wait until the group in front of them are finished putting on the par 4 360 yards and they drive more or less 230 yards

Fantastic!

Had a great time. Course was in great shape. Pace of play was less than optimal. Group in front of us was to dad’s playing with their kids. A little slow but hey, I wish I was playing with my kid!! They let us play through and all was good. Can’t wait to come back.

Tough course to play when its cart path only.

This course has a lot of elevation changes and the carts have GPS so when they say cart path only, you are staying on the path and doing a lot of walking. However it is a beautiful, well maintained course.

Great Views, Poor Time Management

The views at Hidden Valley Golf Club are truly amazing—nestled in those hills with elevation changes and scenic backdrops that make it feel special. The course itself is a tricky, challenging layout that’s fun to play once just to experience it.

That said, paying over $100 (greens fees plus whatever else) for a round that dragged on for 6 hours is not worth it. The pace of play was horrible—we were constantly waiting for two groups ahead to tee off on nearly every hole. We called the marshals multiple times, but nothing improved; it felt like no one was managing the course effectively.

The pro shop staff came across as indifferent and had a bit of an attitude, which didn’t help the overall vibe. On a positive note, our server in the restaurant was fantastic—super friendly and attentive. Bless her heart; she was honestly the highlight of the day and probably the only thing that kept the experience from being a total wash.

It’s good to check this one off the list for its unique track, but there are plenty of other courses in the $100+ range that offer better pace, friendlier service, and even perks like free range balls to warm up. I’d skip this one unless you’re okay with a very slow, frustrating round.

Good time

Great course, very challenging. Only critique would be pace of play and GPS could use outlines where carts can't go.
