Whispering Lakes Golf Course

This course is a shell of its former self. Fairways are unkept and watering is nonexistent. There are more gopher holes golf holes. Awful golf course.

This course has the absolute WORST conditions that I have played on. I lost more than 3 balls on the dang fairway. That should absolutely NOT happen. No marshall either, we had people teeing off on us while we are on the fairway. You definitely get what you pay for at this course. If you play here, be prepared to lose your balls, even if you stripe some.

The location of this course is nice, but the course is poorly maintained. The course is covered in gopher holes and bumps making it extremely hard to play. My husband and I always look for new courses to play at, and given the price, I thought this was something to try out. I wouldn’t recommend this course to any level of golfer. If your learning, this is not the course to learn from, if your intermediate or an expert this course would cause significant frustration. My husband and I have never not played 18 holes, we called it quits at the 9th given the conditions.

Good value for your money. Greens are in very good condition. Fairways need some maintenance as you sometimes hit the fairway and can’t find your ball.

I played on a Sunday at 10am and my round took 5 hours and 30 minutes. The group in front of us took 30 minutes to finish the first hole because they spent too long looking for balls in the rough. The rough was so thick that balls were unfindable just one yard off the fairway. The fairways were also not cut on some holes. The greens are the only good thing I can rate about this course.

Unfortunately, I have to agree 100% with the recent reviews. This course has been completely neglected. The fairways are a mixture of dirt, dead grass, weeds, holes and uneven ground. In some areas, hitting the fairway actually feels like a disadvantage because you’re better off finding a patch of grass in the rough. The bunkers barely resemble bunkers anymore, and there are gopher/rodent holes and dirt mounds throughout the course.

The fairways honestly look more like the vegetation you see along the side of a freeway off-ramp than a golf course—patchy weeds, bare dirt and whatever happens to be growing there.

The greens are really the only thing this course still has going for it. They’re actually in half-decent shape, especially compared with everything surrounding them. If anything ever happens to those greens, I don’t know what would be left to justify playing here.

I’ve played courses that were dry or going through maintenance, but this is different. This looks like prolonged neglect. It’s difficult to understand how they’re charging people to play the course in its current condition. The greens are basically keeping this place on life support.

Place needs major repairs. Greens are decent mostly but fairways are horrible. Beaver holes that will swallow up your new pro v’s. Staff members are friendly but I would stay away.

i’m only 2 years into the sport but even i can tell that this is a terribly managed course.. “grass” on fairways is just weeds on dirt. if you don’t drive or tee off to the greens then i would avoid at all cost.

the greens are the ONLY good thing about this course.

Great staff. Weekend always has a great vibe. Dancing and great music. Finally has shade on the range. Never have to wait for a tee time.

This course used to be in decent condition. One thing I've noticed is the decline in course quality and maintenance since the bar opening up.

The course is terrible. Dried out. Holes everywhere. Crappy conditions. Total neglect of management. Not worth one penny to play here

I played this course for the first time and very disappointed. The greens were diseases all over and the fairways were bumpy ride from the first to end of eighteen. My back was hurting after a round. Half green and half dirt fairways, no sand in the bunkers makes this course very challenge. Poor management

This course has gone from bad to terrible. Need to redo the front nine too many holes & dirt mounds greens are good fairway are almost all dirt or weeds

After playing a round (and not hitting in the sand at all) I was covered in dirt. Fairways are a mixture of dead grass and dirt. Hitting in the fairway could be a bad thing in some holes, rough at least has grass. Rodent holes all over the course.

Groups in front jumping all over the course playing holes again. Greens however were in good shape.

Landing on a patch of decent grass is something to celebrate here. I’d never played a course that makes you play a sand shot in the middle of each fairway until I came here. Between the gopher and squirrel hills riddled throughout each hole and the homeless people walking through the middle of fairways, it makes me so sad to see what this course has turned into.

The course conditions here I’m sad to say are HORRIBLE. Gofers, dead grass on the fairways throughout. Unleveled “”BAJA DESERT” fairways. Balls landing in hard compacted dirt with rocks is a common thing here. I mean this course is trashed. This is the “Carnival Cruise” line of broke-back golf courses. It’s really in poor shape. Prado’s “Butterfield” course is in far better shape than this course.
