Whispering Lakes Golf Course

Whats the old saying? Put 💄 on a pig, its still a 🐖? Yes, they have a brand new bar area with seats, and yes they have upgraded their driving range. The course it self is a dog 🐕 track. You get what you pay for. The whole course is crappy. My buddy(Who never plays, and I brought him my extra golf club set) loved it and the experience. So there you go.

Greens and fairways need major maintenance. The fairways were bumpy, dead grass with big dirt patches and holes from wildlife.

The staff was friendly and let us start about 15 minutes early. The fairways on the front nine were in poor condition and on the back nine were for the most part much better. The greens are small but in pretty good shape. After about 3 holes we caught up with the group in front of us and it was extremely slow from there on in. If the fairways were in better shape this would be a fun course to play, but as it is, I probably won't go back.

First of all, I do wanna say the course layout is amazing. Location is pretty good but this is by far the worst golf course I have ever played at due to the conditions of the fairways and the greens this course looks like I’m playing in an open field, none of the fairways were maintained. There’s overgrowth everywhere. There’s no cart path. There’s no signs on where to go. It just looks like the course has zero maintenance done to it. Tons of dry dirt patches everywhere. It’s very disheartening to see such a beautiful course layout that has zero love and maintaining done to it. The city of Ontario has to do something with that new stadium being built across the street. They could really drive business if they actually put some time and effort into the actual course, this course looks almost abandoned. Oh, on the bright side the golf carts were pretty cool.

I’ve been coming here over the years and every time I come back it just appears to get worse and worse. We were calling it the 18 hole driving range cause that’s what it feels like. Can’t tell the difference between the rough and fairways it’s all the same. Pipe a good drive down the middle just to be in some dirt and weeds. It’s super frustrating. Literally the only good thing was the greens. Just insane to me how they keep letting this place go.

I learned to play on this course many years ago. The uneven tee-boxes, smell of cows and flies use to be the biggest issues. You had to choose from an uphill or downhill lie off the tee boxes. Alway lots of golfer holes, but not as bad as now. Now the course is completely unattended. It looks like the fairways have not been seeded for years. I invited a friend to play with me there last year. I still get teased about it to this day. They have put money into the clubhouse, driving range and pop up bar, but that is it! I tried again a month ago, just because the course is so close to me, but after that I said a can't anymore. It's not fun to play at all. You may hit the fairway and your ball will bounce 90 degrees because of a golfer hole. It's frustrating.

It was my first visit to the golf course. No way, it's not a golf course, it's grassy like a ranch, and the fairway is indistinguishable from the rough area. The lakes were rotten with water, uncomfortable to breathe, disgusting, and I couldn't round.

Course is a joke. Gopher holes everywhere, weeds everywhere, no much grass on the fairways. Greens were OK but very small. Look elsewhere. Don't waste your time.

Driving up we could see the fairways (if you could call them that) were in poor shape. We forged ahead . The staff was friendly and the café had a nice selection of beers. That was the best part of our round. I'm not sure what there trying to accomplish with this course, it was in very poor condition ie; no reseed so the Bermuda grass was going dormant and spotty. In addition they have a major mole/gopher problem. The fairways are a mess. The greens were a C- they were the smallest greens I've seen on an 18 hole par 72 course . They were green but bumpy. If this wasn't bad enough the city sewage treatment plant is next door with a lovely aroma. What's the lowest rating. To bad I can see lots of potential but it would take some cash.

Needs a great deal of TLC. Challenging small greens that are slow and spotty. Fairways are sparse with grass and mole damage. Nice rental carts and location.

We didn’t even make it to hole 8…the whole place from tee boxes to greens is awful. Poorly maintained EVERYWHERE. They are allocating money to all of the wrong places and over charging to play this course that will literally throw your back out or make you roll an ankle due to the terrain, in or off the cart. Pay a little more and go to one of the other courses in the area.

This place has been the worst course I’ve ever played at the fairways are terrible. The greens were fair.. I can’t believe that the owners have let this go. they really need to get tractors ithere and smooth out the course. I could go on and on about this place, but all I have to say is I won’t be back till they get their act together..
