Solid
I have played this course a couple times, definitely worth the money. The pace of play sometimes is a problem but the course is very challenging and scenic. The practice facilities are very nice and the food is good as well.
Marshall and starters need to do their jobs on the start.
So course was fantastic. Greens amazing. Actual rough which was awesome. But the start is always absolutely horrendous. There needs to be a Marshall on hole 2 literally telling groups to move their behinds! 50 minutes into my tee time and I was waiting on 2nd tee with 2 groups in front of me and 3 groups behind me all waiting for hole 2. Unacceptable. Other than that there is no gripe. Layout is one of the best and greens were the best I've seen. Just need to moderate the pace!
Cart Path Only
Rough day, lots of brown spots, really slow play, muddy traps and Cart Path Only on most holes. Course really went down hill over the last month, there all better choices, disappointed.
Poor place of play
The course was great but the booking situation needs to be fixed. Too many groups booked within a short amount of time so it killed the pace of play. Waiting 30 minutes to tee off shouldn’t be a thing. Also while playing we would still have to wait multiple times for 1-2 groups to go as we wait.
Great day for golf
Had an absolute blast on this course and it was in great shape
Eagle glen gc
The course was challenging and the greens were in perfect condition
Pace of play
The course was beautiful. I have no complaints about the course or the staff they were great. But the pace of play was very slow we had a 5 hour game lot of watching other people play 😡
Great Course
My grandson and I came out to play 9 holes.
The course was really pretty and in good shape. Our first time here, but it won't be the last.
Great Design!
One of the best golf courses in the IE. Great design and layout. When you can grab a good deal it’s a steal. Tough, but rewarding if you play well.
Good golf course, but horrible pace of play
This was the first time playing Eagle Glen Golf Course. I've read all the reviews before my round, and interestingly you'd get mixed results. So this is my candid experience when I played this course myself. First, staff friendliness...I've read online that the staff is rude, yet also read that the staff is friendly. When I checked in for my tee time (which was easy...no issues), I was directed to the starter. Here's where I can see the discrepancies in reviews taking shape. This is a very busy golf course with limited golf carts. So the starter had to make sure there were enough carts to go around and get foursomes out at the right time. I noticed some people taking carts without consulting with the starter and he would have issue with them. So this is likely why some folks think that the staff is rude. But in my experience, I noticed that he was just trying to juggle three things at once so when he told me to wait and don't take a cart, I listened to him and waited patiently. I was then courteous to him and he responded to me in a kind way as well. So the bottom line is, the way you treat the starter will be reciprocated back to you. If you don't listen and take things into your own hands, he will get a bit feisty with you. But if you chill, treat him with kindness, and let him do his job, he is a very nice person who genuinely just wants people to enjoy their round and to make sure everyone has a cart. All the other staff (beverage lady, people cleaning and turning over the carts so they can be released for use again) were very friendly to me as well.
Second, course conditions....some say the course needs lots of maintenance, and some say the course is in excellent condition. In my experience, the course was in good shape...considering the circumstances. Remember, this is a public golf course that books numerous tee times. Of course the fairways and greens will get a bit beaten up by overuse in the afternoon. It's expected for a public course. It wasn't worse that other public courses in the area, but wasn't better either. Just what you'd expect from a high traffic golf course. For the novice golfer, it's a total non-issue. For the scratch golfer, however, I can see them having some concerns about the conditions of the greens. But overall, it's just fine and standard for a public golf course. If you want pristine conditions, then I'd recommend playing a semi-private golf course where green fees exceed $250.
Now the two things that are consistent among the many reviews read online (one good and one bad) is that the course layout is spectacular (good) but the pace of place is slow (bad). I will completely agree on both. Eagle Glen is built on the side of a hill and overlooks the city of Corona. It has some beautiful holes, elevated tees, unique fairways, and just overall a pretty cool experience. So the course layout is really good and must be experienced for the golf enthusiast. But ironically, what makes the course spectacular is also what kills it as well. Let me explain. Eagle Glen is a somewhat challenging golf course. With the elevated tees with huge drop offs, the wilderness which lines the fairways, etc. makes it a challenging layout for the novice golfer. I can see many golfers losing their golf balls on this course. So when golfers are spending 5-10 minutes searching for their golf balls, that causes a huge back up. Moreover, where Eagle Glen has failed is that 1) there is no course marshall to help speed up play, and 2) they let out foursomes every 8 minutes. So all of these factors combined, my 18 hole round took 6 hours. Yes, that is not mis-written...6 hours! That is completely ridiculous and quite frankly unacceptable for any round of golf. In fact, the twosome I was paired up with decided to call it a day at #14. The wait was just too long at every hole.
So, would I recommend it? I guess it really depends. Perhaps once just to experience the cool and challenging layout. And if you have nothing planned for the rest of the day and the 6 hour round doesn't bother you, then go for it. But if you cannot tolerate excessively slow pace of play, then I'd say pass. I booked my tee time using a "hot deal" on GolfNow. So I only paid $53 for this round. I guess for $53 is kind of worth it, especially for the experience. But I'd definitely not pay $140 which is the normal going rate.
2 weeks and still no refund after offering refund because of lack of course management.
I would skip Eagle Glenn until management cares about the golfer more than your money.
8 minute tee times, the people that work there will tell you what you want to hear just to get rid of you and a manager that obviously lack any integrity. No wonder his staff thinks is perfectly ok and easy to lie to customers.
It will be a while before I come back if ever. It would take the course being sold to another organization or I know the staff has completely turned over.
Great Course but the Pace
Great course and great price on a holiday however 5 groups were jammed at hole 2, we were the middle. Whether it was the starter or the course booking tee times too close together, I have heard they do every 6 minutes, the front 9 was difficult to get through due to the pace of play, but it started to loosen up on the back 9. Overall a good experience but if pace is an issue for you, perhaps try somewhere else.
