El Prado Golf Courses - Chino Creek
About
El Prado Golf Course in Chino offers two 18-hole courses, Chino creek and Butterfield Stage. Chino Creek is the longer of the two at 6,858 yards from the back tees. It is also considered more challenging but both are player friendly enough to appeal to all skill levels. As its name would imply, the Chino Creek runs along the entire length of the golf course. You find water in several different forms throughout the course including lakes and meandering streams. The layout is spread across rolling terrain with elevation changes that range from subtle to dramatic. Several of the holes begin from elevated tees and it's likely you'll face more than one uphill battle. Trees and bunkers also come into play but the fairways are wide and forgiving. It's not an overly difficult golf course but beginners can also try the shorter and less challenging Butterfield Stage Course.

Horrible Course and Never Recommending
Every time I book a tee time here, we show up to the course and they always pull something on us.
This weekend, they advertised the round as being 18 holes and full weekend pricing. When we arrived, we were surprised by the sign on the door - “Walking Only and 9 holes only”
I’m completely fine with walking but having us book for 18 holes and only allowing 9 holes is completely deceitful. They would allow us to schedule another tee time to play the 9 holes again but this should never be advertised as 18 holes because by that time, there were no other course to go to.
A few months prior, they had a scheduled junior tournament in front of us so our tee time was moved back by an hour and 10 minutes.
If they would warn golfers that these things are happening, then it would be fine but they don’t and they wait for you to get there to find out.
After playing this course many times before, they have become worse and will avoid spending money here again/never recommend to other golfers.
Backed up
Started at 1230 and finished hole 15 at 500. The only reason why we even made it to 15 was some people ahead of us chose to go back to the front nine instead of slogging through the wait. There were four groups lined up at two holes in particular. They just overbooked, and it was ridiculous.
Busy Busy
Not friendly Starter, also deleyed 25min start first hole, .waiting every holes. Play 4hour finished at #12
Chino Slow Creep
Very slow pace of play and the tea boxes weren’t in great shape. I would rather play Butterfield for PACE of play and I don’t think I will play Chino Creek again.
Nice course
Price is good. Pace was slow. Greens were in good shape. Fairways were decent. Overall, good bang for the buck.
Not to bad
Total Dog Track
Bald spots and dirt, poor conditions everywhere but at least the greens were punched and sanded. 🤮
If the fairways are brought up to much better conditions, Chino Creek would become one of the better courses around.
Good day and good pace
I must first praise the dtaff...I have been very crit ical of the filthy men's bath rooms.. I must highly compliment how clean they have been the last 2 weeks. For the first time since 2003, they have no stains in the unrals or toilet bowls....WELL DONE!! The parking lot is so much improved.. I am proud of the overall improvements on both courses and I look forward to playing there.
