Green River Golf Club
About
The beauty of the Santa Ana Canyons surrounds Green River Golf Club in Corona. The club originally had two 18-hole courses but they have been combined to form one massive, sprawling golf course. Although it is surrounded by hills and valleys, the course itself is mostly flat, making it a good round for high handicappers. The fairways are wide and forgiving, making it even more player friendly for beginners. There are still many challenges in store on this golf course though, including a number of river and creek crossings and strategically placed bunkers. The Santa Ana winds that sweep across the course can often make reaching the greens in regulation quite tough and the abundant trees, while providing a scenic and secluded atmosphere, also add to Green River Golf Club's difficulty.

Ok experiencd
Course was in decent shape and layout is pretty good. Pace of play was horrible.l. We teed off 35 min after our tee time and and had many hole with 2 or 3 groups waiting on the tee box. All the staff I encountered was very friendly… from pro shop, bar, and starter. Very strange with how crowded it was on a Saturday they didn’t have a drink cart for on course beverages and snacks. May give the course another chance, but not sure with slow pace.
Course review
Recent rain made the area lush and green. Areas off the fairways VERY BUMPY as usual! Greens were very good
Lovely course but not signs or markers.
My friend and i had not played the course and so looking for the 200-15--100 signs that allowed us to know where we were but nothing doing. We also didn't see serveral of the yardage signs or which hole, making playing difficulty.. Those very basic items would have made it so much more enjoyable. Also, if you're going to work on the fringes around the green everywhere please let your people know that so that we are not having to try to chip past these areas to get to the green. Nenonetheles, loved our time there.
Long Delays, Poor Management, Disruptive Play
Our tee time was at 2:39 PM, but the course was clearly overbooked. When we arrived, there were at least six groups ahead of us and several groups after us all waiting for golf carts. We did not receive a cart until nearly two hours later. I timestamped when we actually started our round and have photos documenting the delay.
At that point, we should have left, but since we prepaid $38.99 per person through GolfNow Hot Deals, the course said they couldn’t help us. Meanwhile, our playing partners paid only $11 because they booked last minute, which made the situation even more frustrating. We also couldn’t reach GolfNow customer service while we were waiting, so we were essentially stuck.
We managed to play only nine holes. When I contacted GolfNow customer service the next day, they confirmed with the course that there was a cart shortage affecting over 300 guests, but the course claimed the delay was only 45 minutes. That is absolutely not true. We waited close to two hours, and groups behind us were forced to walk because the wait was so long.
On top of the operational issues, the course is located next to an active railroad. During tee shots, we were repeatedly interrupted by extremely loud train horns, which completely broke concentration and took away from the playing experience. It was not relaxing and significantly impacted the quality of play.
We eventually received a partial credit to our GolfNow account, but the experience was completely unacceptable. This course stacks tee times without having enough carts to support the volume of players. The operation feels greedy, disorganized, and disrespectful of customers’ time. I will never play here again.
Getting Better All the Time
I don’t go to Green River often but every time I go it gets a little better. All the bunkers now have good sand, the fairways are in descent shape, and the greens are pretty good. The cart paths and bridges are done.
The pace of pay was good. I was a single behind a threesome and finished in just under four hours.
Green river
Good experience, I payed 65$ for a morning time which I believe is good value. However I wouldn’t want to pay more than 70-75$ for this course in the future. Condition was good. Pace of play could have been better but slow pace is always expected at this course
Fun course
Second time playing here. 8:30 tee time on a Sunday and pace wasn't horrible, 4.5hr round. Got backed up on a couple holes but that's to be expected during a weekend round of golf after 8am. Course layout is good, greens were in good shape, bunkers have the good nearly fluffy sand. Tee boxes weren't the best but I've played worse. As with all courses in SoCal, weekend prices don't match up to the cost of admission but I will be returning here again as this courses is nearly worth the price.
Long ago
It had been 40+ years since we last played Geeen River. Many changes, considering it lies in a flood plain it's in pretty decent shape. Enjoyed the round, we had forgotten the afternoon winds however.
Course is in Great Condition
It is November and we had some big rain recently. This may be why the course is in great shape. Fairways and greens are in good shape.
nice mountain views
I got behind 5some group (unheard off) the people were so rude and unwilling let us through. This should never allow, especially people lack of golf etiquette. Love the GC, unfortunate day got behind rude peoples !!!
