About
The beauty of the Santa Ana Canyons surrounds Green River Golf Club in Corona. The club originally had two 18-hole courses but they have been combined to form one massive, sprawling golf course. Although it is surrounded by hills and valleys, the course itself is mostly flat, making it a good round for high handicappers. The fairways are wide and forgiving, making it even more player friendly for beginners. There are still many challenges in store on this golf course though, including a number of river and creek crossings and strategically placed bunkers. The Santa Ana winds that sweep across the course can often make reaching the greens in regulation quite tough and the abundant trees, while providing a scenic and secluded atmosphere, also add to Green River Golf Club's difficulty.

Terrible pace of play
Always love playing this course.
However today’s round was terribly slow. This was a mid-week late morning round.
By the 3rd hole- we were 2-3 groups waiting on every tee box !! We called the pro shop- and were told there was no Marshall on duty that day. They sent out a cart guy.- who met with us - but did nothing to speed up the slow groups in front of us.
A 5.5 hour round is not enjoyable at all- especially mid-week.
Green River....
Green River is consistent. Not a bad course. Could be better though. Pace of play is the ongoing problem. You always hit a wall that kills any rhythm or momentum. Sometimes you hit it on six, sometimes on 16. This round was the 10th hole where we hit the 20 minute a hole foursome. By 12 it was waiting 5+ minutes over every shot. I left after 14.

Like I said it's not a bad course. You can find deals online that keep it under $35 weekday twilite. Course is usually I pretty good condition. Staffs friendly. Carts are in good shape.
Nice course at a good price
I had a great time playing Green River Golf course . I booked a hot deal , so I played 18 holes with a cart for only $32 , which is a great deal . The course had a fun and moderately challenging layout. The course was in great condition and the bunkers were filled with sand which was nice (I was expecting hard dirt in the bunkers). My only complaint was the pace of play - I was told the pace of play was good when I checked in ( 2pm tee time on a Monday) but still took 4+ hours playing as a twosome . Not a terrible pace of play but a little slow considering it was not a busy time . I would still like to come back though , I had a fun experience overall.
Green River
Pace was slow. Seems like the were many novice golfers, with very slow pace.
I took a golf ball to the chest and heard them yell Four after impact.
Worst course in California
Staff was friendly so I have nothing negative to say about them. Place of play was horrendous, are the tee times 2 minutes apart? Course was in trash conditions, had to wait ten minutes past our tee time for a cart, back up after back up. We made it though 5 holes and left, couldn’t handle the 20 minute wait on each tee box. Worst golf outing I’ve ever had.
Getting There
The greens need about another week to completely recover from aeration. The fairways are getting better, but have a ways to go. The bunker sand is excellent.
No mention of Punched Greens
Well. I do love this course. But my group was very disappointed that when we got to the green in hole one and all of the other 17 hole greens that they were punched. So it was a very frustrating experience to say the least. I wish I was told before I booked my tee time. Other than that, the course was great. The staff was great. I’d play there again.
