Lakes at Indian Creek Golf Course
About
Only two holes lack water on Indian Creek Golf Club's Lakes Course, designed by Dick Phelps three years after the Creek Course opened. No. 9 is the best hole, playing 453 yards with water coming into play off the tee and the approach. A pond protects the left bend of the dogleg and extends to the green. Bogey isn't bad on this difficult par 4.

Junior golf issues, but otherwise good course
If you play in afternoons during school year, be aware of junior golfers. They REALLY slow things down. Course could use some marshalls to keep play going. Otherwise, layout is interesting and course is good value. The GolfNow discount was about 35% vs the reg rate.
Nice course
Wow! Fix the cart paths. Had to check teeth to make sure they didn't rattle out.
Nice
Course and staff were nice. very well kept for such a dry season.
The Creeks course is great
Great course and layout. It is in great shape and the staff is awesome. Best looking group of cart girls in DFW.
This course has challenging holes
Course has had some improvement in the sand traps. The lake on 12 needs some attention, could be the drought. Overall it is a pretty good course. We would play it again.
Nice course, great value
We had a great time at Indian Creek! The course is well maintained and there are some really cool features. I really liked the GPS and electronic scorekeeper on the golf cart. The cart girl was both attractive and friendly, and had a great personality. The putting and chipping practice greens were really nice too. My only complaint was the 2 foursomes in front of us were playing really slowly, causing our round to last almost 5 hours. We actually had to cut the round short (15 holes) to pick our kids up from school, which has never been an issue with a 9:30 tee time.
The Lake course has what it takes to make it a challenge.
If you can't hit it down the middle and you like tree's and water, then this is the course for you. I had a lot of practice on my low shots to get it out of the tree's. Very nice course and worth the $$$. With lots of tree's and water, it will test your game and make you choose your shots wisely, other wise you will be working on your low shots and pitch outs. The cart girls are awesome and are seen often.
Nice course!
Well kept course. Not too easy, not too hard. Greens were nice.
Good Value
Overall a good golf value. Not a super nice course, but not a dump either. Good course for mid to high handicappers - although there is a lot of water in play. Bring a lot of balls.
This course has some challenges.
I have played this course several times but this time the course was in its best condition ever. Broken limbs were not on the ground and the greens ran true. The only negative remark was that the tee boxes did not have the hole numbers listed so you had to compare the yardage on the score card to the GPS.
Great facilities Accurate GPS in carts
Great in the early morning for getting around quick. Cart GPS is very helpful and accurate, I checked with my rangefinder. Course is well maintained and very green for August in TX
There are much better courses to be played
Poorly managed course. Painfully slow play and ammenities that are long over due for repair. A Marshall was sitting on the #14 tee box talking on his cell phone (and not marshalling the course), had to walk over to him to ask him to please be quiet while my friend was preparing to tee off.
Will definitely make other plans if playing on the weekend, but may come back if I ever have a chance to play during the week.
Great Track
The course played great!!!! I would definitely recommend it to a friend.
Creek course in pretty nice shape.
Played creek course. Really nice fairways and greens. Looks like their bunker renovation is almost done, should have all the sand in within a few days.
First course I've played where the GPS was actually accurate on every hole. And its touchscreen.
Major negative though is gas carts.
Nice course that all can enjoy. Played Creek 18.
This is a well layed out 18 holes. Course was in good shape. One of my favorites in the area.
Tee time got bumped for a NTPGA Tournament
I booked a tee time with Golfnow and when I arrived at the course was informed that they had a tournament going on and that my tee time would be delayed at least an hour. I did not have the ability to wait that additional time so I got moved to the Lakes course. When I got to the Lakes course and tee'd off with another golfer he showed me that the Pro Shop had given him 10 coupons for reduced rates at the facility in the future. I was not offered these.
Indian Creek - Lakes
I played the Lakes, which is the easier 18...the Creek is a little tougher. Layout and condition are ok. Greens are above average. If you hit the ball straight, you will score well - even from the tips. The pace of play was fantastic for a late-afternoon.
Sanded and aerated Lakes course greens 7/22/13
There was no notice that on this very day right before I tee'ed off, they had aerated and sanded the Lakes course greens. I followed the crew around who was smoothing the sand off.
I received a reasonable rate, but there was no notice or warning as to the conditions of the course. The fairways were reasonable, but not great, considering the amount of rain we just received, they should have been plush. The tee boxes were OK, but again, should have been in great shape, but instead, just average.
The rates at Indian Creek continue to be overrated and higher than they should be, especially during the week and for the normal condition the course is maintained. The residents of Carrollton and seniors should get a much better rate especially during the week. This has been the history at Indian Creek, it seems the city council continues to be mis-lead and mis-informed.
Overall the course was in good shape.
The fairways and greens were in good shape. The greens were a little slow and took and some time to get used to. There had been several thunderstorms that had hit the course the week that I played and because of this the sand traps were very hard. They definitly needed some fresh sand. I enjoyed the round of golf and would recommend the course to others.
Good except for punched greens.
Value would have been there if the greens hadn't been punched. Love the course. Interesting, strategic and usually challenging but fair greens.
