About
Perdido Bay Golf Club has hosted several notable players including Jack Nicklaus, Tom Kite, and Curtis Strange. It also formerly served as the site to the Pensacola Open for a decade-long stretch and while it may not be host anymore it still preserves its integrity as a challenging, championship course. The golf course is long and narrow, rewarding both distance and accuracy. Although it is mostly flat there is some strategic mounding that causes tricky lies throughout. Perdido Bay Golf Club's fairways are flanked by multiple cuts of rough and the greens are large and undulating. Many of the greens, as well as the tees, are also elevated. In addition to the golf course, there are also extensive practice facilities that include a large driving range, putting green, chipping green, and greenside and fairway bunkers.

Very Ok
Very overpriced in my opinion. Nothing crazy about the layout nor the conditions. Greens very slow. Lots of rough patches throughout the courses. The tee boxes haven’t been mowed in weeks. The carts were nice though!

Very Nice course
Would have given 5 stars but the tee boxes were not in good shape. Will definitely play it again. The greens were in excellent shape but very slow.

cut the greens Please
First time here, nice layout lots of water but playable. Paired with Two guys that told us to go ahead because one guy doesn't play well with strangers!!!!! Bring your own foursome or take up tennis The greens were terrible to putt on. so slow from not being cut it was almost impossible. Played a bunch of courses near here and all greens were fast until this place, get used to area conditions and then throw it away. Doubt I will come back too many near here to make this mistake again.

Course in good condition, greens slow but grass growing in. Tee boxes need work.

Know your distance.
Lots of water to make it entertaining. If you like to hit epic recovery shots from hole to hole trust those shots will not available on this course. My retired father and I enjoyed the uniqueness of the layout.

Feb. 24/23
Third time we played here. will likely be the last. Biggest issue is the dirt and complete lack of sand in the numerous bunkers. Was in a bunker. Before entering saw 2 previous escape attempts. Very shallow club divits. Said to playing partners that it is likely I will hit a rocket across the green. This comment was before entering the bunker..Most greens have ponds very close. Sure enough, proceeded to hit a rocket over green into the pond. I had opened the club face as the shot was to a close pin. After my usual swing I managed to "dig" less than a half inch. You can't get the leading edge under the ball. A few holes later, one of my playing partners was in a bunker. He said, before hitting, he remembered what I had said. Told me he didn't open the face because of what I said. So he kept the face closed so getting under the ball would be easier. Same result. rocket out of the bunker. The dirt in the bunkers is a dark gray. Many tee boxes were mostly white sand with little grass. This sand should be in the bunkers, not on the tees. Proshop reception was fine. No carts in parking lot makes for much inconvenience. Practice areas seemed to be extensive. Appeared to be lighted for darkness use. A large parking area was available.

How Slow Can You Go
Play got progressively slower as the round went on. Two 3somes and a 4some ahead of us. The 4some played the last 11 holes with 2 holes in front of them open. No help from the rangers.

Good but not great
Course conditions were decent for this time of year. Fairway grass was starting to grow, but many lies were really tight. Tee boxes were not in great shape for the most part. Bunkers had very little sand. The greens were in really good shape, firm and fast. Cart GPS was a nice touch. Staff was great from the starter to the PTO shop to the bar. Overall a nice day of golf.
