Challenge the Savannahs. On the windward side of Merritt island lies one of the most unique golf courses on Florida's Space Coast. The 6,450 yard Gordon G. Lewis design winds through majestic hardwood forests, natural wetlands, and scenic lakes to reveal protected, undulated greens. Nine holes are framed by a natural savannah conservation area, bordered by hammocks with a high canopy of trees and coastal flatwoods. Water, in the form of natural wetlands and manmade lakes, comes into play on thirteen holes. The course boasts several unforgettable holes, such as the 525-yard, par 5 Signature 7th, regarded as one of the most challenging holes in Central Florida. This beautifully tight, typically southern course features six sets of tees, making play ideal for beginners and pros. The back tees are demanding even for the best of the best, while our new “Family Tees” are playable by anyone who wants to tee up. Prepare for your round by warming up on our practice facilities that include: unique aqua range, chipping and bunker area, and full-sized practice putting green. Look around during your visit, and you will notice nature's splendor on display. Our preserve features many water birds, birds of prey, reptiles, and low country mammals that make the savannahs their home. The fairways additionally offer a great view of the nearby Cape Canaveral rocket launches. Our southern plantation styled Clubhouse is a great place to start and end your day at The Savannahs. Inside you will find a golf shop, plus a bar and grill with great food and hospitality to match. Or, wander outside to the veranda overlooking the aqua range and golf course to catch the sunset.

Space Coast Golf Club – A One of a Kind Golfing Experience With an Out of This World Setting

Space Coast Golf Club brings something to the table that no other course in Florida can claim — a view of NASA and the launch pad sitting right on the horizon as you play your round. It is the kind of backdrop that stops you mid-swing just to appreciate how unique and genuinely cool the setting really is. For any golf and space enthusiast alike, this course checks a box that simply cannot be checked anywhere else.

The course itself holds its own without leaning entirely on its remarkable surroundings. The fairways and greens were in solid, well-maintained condition throughout the round, making for a consistent and enjoyable playing experience from start to finish. The tee boxes showed some wear and could use a bit of attention, but nothing that significantly impacted the overall enjoyment of the round.

The layout flows well and presents a fair challenge suitable for a wide range of skill levels. Much like Lake Worth Beach, this is a course that welcomes beginners and experienced golfers alike without ever feeling intimidating or overly punishing.

Now, let us talk about the hat. Walking into the pro shop and discovering the Space Coast Golf Club merchandise was a highlight in itself. The logo features an astronaut swinging a golf club, and it is hands down one of the coolest golf hat logos you will ever come across. It is the kind of logo that makes you reach for your wallet without hesitation, and I walked out proudly wearing mine. Absolutely worth picking one up while you are there.

Overall: A solid, well-maintained course elevated by an unforgettable setting and arguably the coolest logo in golf.

Space Coast Golf Club is a must-play for anyone traveling through the area. The NASA views alone make it worth the trip — but the course, the atmosphere, and that hat will keep you talking about it long after the round is over.

Space Coast Golf

The course has stayed static since the last ownership change. The greens are slowly improving but they need to concentrate on getting the invasive grass out of the greens

Go somewhere else

Unfortunately, it’s just not worth it. I’ve played this course four different times and have never had a good experience. Despite the change in ownership, nothing has improved. This was my first visit back since the switch, hoping for a better outcome, but the cost has increased, the pace of play remains very slow, and the overall atmosphere is unwelcoming EVERY TIME by other golfers. Taken together, it makes for a disappointing experience. I would much rather play elsewhere in Brevard County.

Conditions a lot worse since few years ago

Similar conditions to cocoa beach country club. Probably not worth the play if you’re experienced golfer who likes nice course. Slow greens don’t roll pure and super patchy with dead spots. Just gotta fluff your lie in fairway and rough. If you’re okay with poor condition but relatively cheap and in local area, you could play it.

Tight greens

Greens are small compared to other courses but this is because many of these holes are not difficult. Most holes are a short iron with an average tee shot. Course management is key. Plenty of water but it really isn’t an issue if you choose the proper club. Most par 4 are a 3 wood or even a mid iron for placement. Par 5 are all pretty easy. Conditions are okay, but definitely playable. Pace of play was awesome staff was super friendly, cart girl came around frequently. Will pay again.

Not ideal - poor conditions / weird layout

Played this course as a midway point for some friends around the state of Florida.

We arrived and appears the clubhouse is under renovations and did not have many open amenities , locker room/ food / etc.

Once to the range we noticed it was not level and just weeds not real grass.

The course has changed their layout and whole order that made driving the cart very confusing.

I have nothing nice or good to say about the conditions here.

Greens were some of the worst I have played. Fairways were all flooded and mostly mud.

Just was not a good experience playing here.

Value is there at the low price. But I’d rather pay a little more and get a much better experience.

Bad greens

The greens are in rough shape but the fairways are better than what they used to be, still though the fairways are covered in weeds and the greens have the same weeds on them if they’re no just dead on one end or the other of the green.

Priorities and timing

This course has a lot of water! Almost every hole has water to one side or the other, some have both. Then there are the holes with forced carries off the tee. If you spray the ball, or are intimidated by water in front of the tee box (and none of them are long carries)...you can lose a lot of golf balls during a round.

I think this course would be fun to play during the dry season. But, in the height of summer its awfully squishy. I suppose that is why it was cartpath only. They really needed to tell that to some of the folks with paving equipment who were re-doing the cartpaths, and tore up parts of their fairways.

Also, they are spending some money on the new asphalt that could be better used on the course. The fairway on the last par 5 was abysmal, and the red tee box looked as though it had been sprayed with grass killer and what little was growing on it was weeds.

It's a tough course, especially if you aren't playing with folks who know the course (fortunately I had three folks who did).

Never saw a marshal and we were waiting the entire back nine on the group in front of us (which is pretty bad when our group was playing from three different tees, so we weren't very quick, so it was a little annoying to get a warning message on the cart GPS on the next to last hole that we were 7 minutes off pace (while waiting for the group in front of us to clear so we could tee off).

Not in great shape

We played the Savannah‘s today. The employees were great. They’re undergoing significant renovations, painting things like that right now. The layout isn’t bad but the condition of some of the tea boxes in fairways were pretty rough. The greens were very, very slow and not the best shape.
