About
Challenge the Savannahs. On the windward side of Merritt island lies one of the most unique golf courses on Florida's Space Coast. The 6,450 yard Gordon G. Lewis design winds through majestic hardwood forests, natural wetlands, and scenic lakes to reveal protected, undulated greens. Nine holes are framed by a natural savannah conservation area, bordered by hammocks with a high canopy of trees and coastal flatwoods. Water, in the form of natural wetlands and manmade lakes, comes into play on thirteen holes. The course boasts several unforgettable holes, such as the 525-yard, par 5 Signature 7th, regarded as one of the most challenging holes in Central Florida. This beautifully tight, typically southern course features six sets of tees, making play ideal for beginners and pros. The back tees are demanding even for the best of the best, while our new “Family Tees” are playable by anyone who wants to tee up. Prepare for your round by warming up on our practice facilities that include: unique aqua range, chipping and bunker area, and full-sized practice putting green. Look around during your visit, and you will notice nature's splendor on display. Our preserve features many water birds, birds of prey, reptiles, and low country mammals that make the savannahs their home. The fairways additionally offer a great view of the nearby Cape Canaveral rocket launches. Our southern plantation styled Clubhouse is a great place to start and end your day at The Savannahs. Inside you will find a golf shop, plus a bar and grill with great food and hospitality to match. Or, wander outside to the veranda overlooking the aqua range and golf course to catch the sunset.

Most times hitting off of dirt
Course is not long but has a strategic lay out. However, course conditions were horrible. Practice green should have been warning of dirty patches to follow. Some tee boxes total dirt, most greens had limited grass or bumpy clumps. If you missed a green no rough at all, just low-cut grass. Courses up north are in better shape despite the cold winter.

A nice course. It rained all day. Cart path only and puddles everywhere. Would like to play it again but it is too far for me to travel.
Needs some investment
Course feels like it used to be a fine track, but investments in maintenance /grounds have dried up...
Staff great, carts great, layout fun, but actual course condition was not up to a municipal course we played last week....
Pleasant Round with 3 Strangers
Enjoyed a 4 hour 15 minute with 3 guys I met on the 1st tee. Considering the weather we've had this winter the course was in very good shape.
Quick round during our cruise
Able to snag a tee time with club rentals while our cruise stopped in Port Canaveral . Super friendly staff, were a few minutes late and no problem, just move you guys to next tee time. Decent rental clubs. Great layout, greens really rolled true. Fairways tee boxes recovering from some heavy water. Very challenging course , play 1 tee box up based on what yardage you think you should play … I mean , literally water everywhere and if you don’t know the course … you’ll be donating a half dozen or so balls. Lot of fun though. Can’t say enough about the staff and greens. Also… keep an eye out for gators , quite a few we had to turn our back on to hit our shots .. a bit nerve wracking but makes a great story. Anytime I’m in this area I will make it a point to play here .
Area Go To
Always play when visiting the area. Three rounds last week. Great wildlife, Four-hour rounds. Good food and beverage choices. Fast greens.
Nice course
The G)S on the golfs was great. The staff was helpful. . The place of play was kind of slow. We liked the aqua range.
Fun Course
Lots of water wind picked up as we played but course was in decent shape for this time of year. Will continue to improve in growing season . Will go back and play it again
Visiting cocoa beach
Course was packed and EXTREMELY SLOW. Pro shop and starter friendly. No one to speed anyone up. Bunch of rain I was told and course was wet but not as bad as it was the week before I was told. Don’t go if you do not have 5 1/2 hours planned.
