About
Challenge the Savannahs. On the windward side of Merritt island lies one of the most unique golf courses on Florida's Space Coast. The 6,450 yard Gordon G. Lewis design winds through majestic hardwood forests, natural wetlands, and scenic lakes to reveal protected, undulated greens. Nine holes are framed by a natural savannah conservation area, bordered by hammocks with a high canopy of trees and coastal flatwoods. Water, in the form of natural wetlands and manmade lakes, comes into play on thirteen holes. The course boasts several unforgettable holes, such as the 525-yard, par 5 Signature 7th, regarded as one of the most challenging holes in Central Florida. This beautifully tight, typically southern course features six sets of tees, making play ideal for beginners and pros. The back tees are demanding even for the best of the best, while our new “Family Tees” are playable by anyone who wants to tee up. Prepare for your round by warming up on our practice facilities that include: unique aqua range, chipping and bunker area, and full-sized practice putting green. Look around during your visit, and you will notice nature's splendor on display. Our preserve features many water birds, birds of prey, reptiles, and low country mammals that make the savannahs their home. The fairways additionally offer a great view of the nearby Cape Canaveral rocket launches. Our southern plantation styled Clubhouse is a great place to start and end your day at The Savannahs. Inside you will find a golf shop, plus a bar and grill with great food and hospitality to match. Or, wander outside to the veranda overlooking the aqua range and golf course to catch the sunset.

This course will give you a solid round of golf!
Overall the course was solid. I am a beginner in golf so for someone like me it’s really solid. Especially working on short game. The course layout gives plenty of opportunity to do so. Outside of hole 15 everything was in good condition whole 15 was the only hole that had a little bit of a messed up fairway and rough.
My wife wants me to mention that the bathrooms need a little bit of work.

it was a great layout small greens. Greens roll good some of them have weeds , a lot of water hazards, tha carts have gps which is good because it’s get tricky
shape fairways a little bit dry out but definitely work for the money.

Fun course to play but some greens need some work.
But it’s not the the greens are dormant.
Thisw is one of the better courses in the beach area of central FL. The staff and course maintainence is very good.

The Staff, Maintenance Crew and Restaurant
are efficient, friendly and professional. I have lived in this area & own property in Cape Canaveral for the last 20 Years.
I am lucky to have a great course like Savannah's 15miles from my house..

Most times hitting off of dirt
Course is not long but has a strategic lay out. However, course conditions were horrible. Practice green should have been warning of dirty patches to follow. Some tee boxes total dirt, most greens had limited grass or bumpy clumps. If you missed a green no rough at all, just low-cut grass. Courses up north are in better shape despite the cold winter.

A nice course. It rained all day. Cart path only and puddles everywhere. Would like to play it again but it is too far for me to travel.
Needs some investment
Course feels like it used to be a fine track, but investments in maintenance /grounds have dried up...
Staff great, carts great, layout fun, but actual course condition was not up to a municipal course we played last week....
Pleasant Round with 3 Strangers
Enjoyed a 4 hour 15 minute with 3 guys I met on the 1st tee. Considering the weather we've had this winter the course was in very good shape.
