About
Challenge the Savannahs. On the windward side of Merritt island lies one of the most unique golf courses on Florida's Space Coast. The 6,450 yard Gordon G. Lewis design winds through majestic hardwood forests, natural wetlands, and scenic lakes to reveal protected, undulated greens. Nine holes are framed by a natural savannah conservation area, bordered by hammocks with a high canopy of trees and coastal flatwoods. Water, in the form of natural wetlands and manmade lakes, comes into play on thirteen holes. The course boasts several unforgettable holes, such as the 525-yard, par 5 Signature 7th, regarded as one of the most challenging holes in Central Florida. This beautifully tight, typically southern course features six sets of tees, making play ideal for beginners and pros. The back tees are demanding even for the best of the best, while our new “Family Tees” are playable by anyone who wants to tee up. Prepare for your round by warming up on our practice facilities that include: unique aqua range, chipping and bunker area, and full-sized practice putting green. Look around during your visit, and you will notice nature's splendor on display. Our preserve features many water birds, birds of prey, reptiles, and low country mammals that make the savannahs their home. The fairways additionally offer a great view of the nearby Cape Canaveral rocket launches. Our southern plantation styled Clubhouse is a great place to start and end your day at The Savannahs. Inside you will find a golf shop, plus a bar and grill with great food and hospitality to match. Or, wander outside to the veranda overlooking the aqua range and golf course to catch the sunset.

Golf
The course was is good shape. Front nine had plenty of water which made for perfect shot making, back nine was more open with less water. Staff was very helpful and could not do enough for us. The starter took the time to circle the holes with water and where not to hit the ball. Carts were like new. The starter even fill our ice bucket with ice for us. I would recommend this course to a friend. We will play this course again when we are in the area. Great value.
Starter named speedy is very rude. Because we were Golfnow we were made to look at an empty first tee for thirty min. Will not play here again. Can see how course lose over $100,000 last year.

long day golf
play from the white in Wind day slow game to much player playing slow. The course need improve the fairway. The green are not the best. Not going again .

We are truly sorry your day wasn't up to par. The team has been working diligently over the last year to improve some of the areas in the fairways that are weaker. Tremendous progress was made last year and we will be resume those treatments again soon. Don't give up on us yet, The Savannahs is getting better everyday and we are not slowing down. Great little shot makers course.
This course has a few holes that demand placement of tee shots. The greens are quick and the fairways give roll..stay OUT of the traps..not much sand..rocky too...KT

Some of the traps out there are a bit thin and you will be happy to know we are right in the middle of a bunker rejuvenation project. We have added material to several bunkers this winter and will continue to do so throughout the year. Come on back out and track the progress!
Course condition
Greens and fairways need some maintenance, but with recent rain perhaps they will improve.

Mother Nature has been throwing us some curve balls over the past 7 months but we are fighting through them. Those weaker areas in a couple fairways will be addressed in the very near future. The course is very nice . The staff is very friendly , from the young guy booking you in to the starter . Once we booked in we were given a detailed layout of the course . This was very helpful. He also seemed genuinely interested in who we are and had a pleasant conversation with him . I will definitely get his name next time we go back . The starter could not have been nicer and also made us feel like we were important . The course is laid out nicely and the holes are pretty straight forward . The greens were very fast but I was told this is how they are in Florida One of the great things about this course was the wildlife with birds all over and fish jumping but the best part of that was the alligators sunning themselves.

Great county course
Great county course and off the beaten track (5 miles from Kennedy Space Center so not that full of players. This is one of those courses not completely lined with houses and so seems more in nature. Habitat has even less (NONE). Greens were w/o weeds & no bare spots; cut well, rolled tru. Plenty of real Sand in the traps but fairways had an occasional bare spot. Otherwise lots of grass (and weed). Dog legs, 200 yd par 3's from blue plenty of water and swamp to negotiate. Played all alone at 3pm on Saturday with no one in front or behind. How else to play this individual sport game?

Not Good
I was really shocked. I played here a lot last fall and the course was much better. Green are weedy, fairways were skimpy . Traps lack sand and are rocky.Very disappointing.

We are sorry you did not enjoy your round. The green team has been working very diligently over the last year to elevate conditions on the course. We actual have added new material to several bunkers this winter and will continue improving the bunkers as the year progresses. We have also made significant improvements to the weaker areas in the fairways and that process will be ramping up again this spring when growing season resumes. Don't give up on us yet Angler2. We are not perfect, but we are definitely improving. Our regular players are raving about the significantly improved conditions and I'm sure you will notice them in a big way on your next visit if you give us a chance. Course was decent for the price.
Course was in good shape and at decent price at $30. Other courses in the area wanted $40 and higher. I do have one complaint in that there was no ranger on the course and the group behind me almost hit us with their golf ball. That group complained that we were moving slow but there were groups ahead of us too, so unsure how fast we could've played regardless.
