Shingle Creek Golf Club
About
Shingle Creek Golf Club lies along historic Shingle Creek in Orlando - the headwaters to the Florida Everglades. This par-72 David Harmon-designed course is not only near the happenings of International Drive, it's also offers easy access from Orlando International Airport with what seems like its own exit off the Beeline (Toll Road 528) at Universal.
It has a lush terrain, significantly undulating fairways, interconnecting waterways, and magnificent panoramic views from their centralized 23,000 square foot clubhouse. Dense oaks and pines border the course

Shingle Creek's par-4 12th is one of the new holes, which Thad Layton and team knitted adeptly into the existing course. Big fan of this bunker cluster. Photo submitted by TimGavrichGP on 10/27/2017

Okay for holiday golf
Shingle Creek is just right for holiday golf. Plenty of tees to choose from. Greens play nice. Fairways in good condition. Great off-course facilities. Speed of play was excellent, but the folks we played with said that we got lucky. Either way, it was a very pleasant round. My one minus is that, despite water on a lot of holes, it’s a bit flat and boring.
Slow pace of play
A couple of days after Milton hurricane the fairway was still drying. But overall was good.
Plan to visit when things go back to normal.
But pace of play was really slow.
Carts only on path
It’s not sensible to play a golfcourse so shortly aftet hurricane and a lot of rain. They could not cut the grads carts only on path. But it was excpensive if you think about this condition.
Worth the money
This course may appear expensive but it is worth it with what you get - free range practice balls, carts with GPS, valet parking & a fantastic golf course. There are several tees to choose from with the GPS showing what challenges you face on each hole. The greens were undulating but good to putt on.
My only criticism would be the need to have someone on course checking on slower groups. We followed a very slow group who took over 2.5 hours to play the first 9 holes. It was painfully slow & took away from our enjoyment of the round.
Nice Course
The greens were not as quick as I would prefer and some fairways were pretty saturated with water, so no roll out. The course conditions was good but not excellent. The price was right with the Hot Deal.
Pristine
Course is now one of my favorite in Orlando. Even with all of the rain the course was in amazing condition. Fun layout with tough sloping greens. Will definitely be back.
Elite golf course
I don’t know what a PGA course looks like in person but I would imagine this course would rival some PGA sanctioned courses. A bit pricey for a hacker like me but I like to splurge every couple months.
Nice Course, but Black tee boxes were struggling
Can’t beat the price of $44 for a hot deal. I decided to play the blacks this time which is hard enough, but there wasn’t a whole lot of grass on them unfortunately. Lots a sand, not a lot of grass. Pace of play was a touch slow, but not the worst ever.
Easy access to convention center
We chose this course as we were in town for a convention and it was 2 miles from convention hotels. Only gave it 4 stars due to recent green aeration or otherwise likely a 5. Held up on 4 holes, pace was outstanding for other 14. Staff is super friendly and gave great advice. Would return
Great course
I played 9/17/24 the course over all was in good shape. Fairways, and greens were nicely groomed and they were mowing while there. No issues there. I’ve played this course every time I visited Orlando and will be back for sure. The staff at the restaurant and on the course were very polite as well. My only gripe this day was pace of play on the back nine. A very slow 3some held up two groups .
Top notch golf, top notch service
This is the second time we’ve been to Shingle Creek. The first time we just played 9, but this time we did the full 18.
The course is beautiful and beautifully maintained. The fairways and greens are impeccable. There are abundant wild Florida birds to watch while you’re waiting for your buddy to take his shot.
I marked the layout 4/5, because while it’s straightforward and easy to find the next hole, it’s a bit odd because the 8th brings you back to the club area, and there is no break between 9 & 10. Moreover, part of the back 9 runs alongside Destination Parkway, which isn’t heavily traveled but is a truck route. Maybe in a few years there will be a hedgerow along that side.
The staff is among the best in the area, and are extremely cheerful and helpful. The pro shop has lots of resort-themed items for your course-collecting pleasure. We haven’t played here a lot, but we will certainly be back.
