Shingle Creek Golf Club

One of my favorite tracts in Orlando...course was in excellent shape, even considering the hot weather we recently had...fairways excellent....some tee boxes were a little rough, but we were told that they are doing some work on them....did not affect the play at all.

I played the course with my 3 sons yesterday. The condition was great. The golf and restaurant staff were fantastic. The entire club is managed very well. Impressive.

August is never a great time to golf in Florida but the course was great and the staff was super nice! Highly recommend!

Let me start by saying, my day was ruined from the moment I first interacted with the starter.

I had a 9:30 tee time with my son. Arrived at the course at 9:00, guys at the bag drop greeted us nicely, and I went in to pay for the round. Took the cart to the driving range and the starter told me I didn't have time to hit balls but needed to get on the tee right away (at 9:08) because there was a group of 20 who wanted to get out. I told him my tee time was at 9:30 and he said "you need to take that up with the pro shop but I can't get you out until 10:45 if you don't go now."

I'm 59 years old and need time on the range to loosen up and spend a little time on the putting green to gauge the speed. I wasn't given the opportunity to do either. And getting attitude from the starter had me fired up.

The ranger saw me later on the course and said he heard about what happened to me. He said it was wrong and graciously apologized. He was the only one who gave me any sense of appreciation.

I was told by some people who play the course regularly that the pro shop often changes tee times without telling the guests.

The pace of play was terrible. But this could have been avoided by tee placements. Too many Par 4's and Par 5's were playing far too short. Par 4's were drivable and Par 5's were reachable in 2. Bring the tees back so that people aren't waiting for the group ahead to finish up on a par 4 that is playing like a par 3.

I definitely overpaid for the experience I had and would never return.

Very nice course for the money. Well kept. It was about 3 weeks after they had punched the greens but it still putted well.

Wow, The greens and tee boxes are in rough shape right now. Fairways were good. Not worth the price right now, maybe in a few weeks after things have had a time to heal. Also disappointing the range closed shortly after I arrive due to “maintenance”. Perhaps play elsewhere until mid/Late August.
