Shingle Creek Golf Club

The course should not allow parents to bring you kids 10 years and younger on the course before 1 pm. I paid over $100 to play on Thanksgiving and a father had his child hacking at the ball without even being able to hit it. We fell behind and got frustrated at the incident. I understand introducing your kids to the sport, but don't do it in prime-time when other experience golfers are trying to have a good round. I blame the management for letting that happen and killing our round. I play the course a lot and spite of all of my disappointments there, I keep coming back. But this one cuts the cake.

I even supported the course paying top dollar charged when it was burnt out. It will not let me upload the pictures of the horrible conditions we found the course in. But my wife and I were never compensated or apologized to. I was upset and embarrassed for them. However, I kept trying to support Florida golf. But enough is enough.

Course is in nice condition, greens are well kept and rolling quick. Tee boxes need work! Pace of play was ok for a holiday weekend at 4.5 hours. I would play again.

Pros: Nice greens. Free range balls.

Cons: Slow play. Service.

Played a few years ago before the changes. Course has been revamped and slightly shortened.

Disappointed that although our price included GPS & practice balls the cart had to be changed as GPS was not working and the range was closed before our tee time.

Very slow round with no Marshall on the course which was a pity as it was obvious to all which group was holding up play

Course in good nick but pace of play ruined the enjoyment of the day

Parking was an issue because there was a major tournament taking place. Also had a tough time getting back to the clubhouse after the sun went down, because the path back was closed with barriers.

The girl in the halfway house was the most impolite, unhelpful and grumpy we’ve ever experienced!

Jim Stewart was a great, entertaining and friendly starter.

It is just a matter of how much you want to pay to play a really good course.

We enjoyed the round very much and practiced the day before for 2 hours.

The staff are very friendly and courteous starting with the Pro Shop and checking in and the starter who got us out on time to the back shop staff.

We had lunch in the pub afterwards and the service and food were great. We will definitely come back for another round and will refer Shingles Creek to our friends.

We enjoyed our visit to Shingle Creek. Our group was on a golf trip and this was one of our stops. Very nice layout and well maintained. The greens were in excellent shape and rolled nicely.

Greens and tee boxes in rough shape. 4:45 hr round. Cool layout but would not return for $90
