Bear Creek Golf Club - West Course
About
Conveniently located adjacent to the DFW Airport, Bear Creek Golf Club serves up two Ted Robinson-designed, 18-hole masterpieces that are known for their stunning topography and outstanding greens. And with both golf courses playing around 6,700 yards from the tips, golfers can hit long irons and fairway woods off the tee to keep it in the fairway, which is mandatory for a good round on these tight courses. Bear Creek's West Course is demanding early, and is significantly more difficult on the front side. However, the back side opens up and allows some room for error, making this the track of choice for the high handicapper. Nos. 6 and 7 stand out on the demanding front. No. 6 requires a blind tee shot and an approach over water, and no. 7 might be the most difficult on the golf course: a 380-yard par 4 that plays into the wind and also involves water. The back side has the signature hole, the scenic 180-yard 17th, which plays along a lake.

SLOW
Ok course if you don’t mind taking 5:30 hours for 18 holes (this was one of the first times of the morning)had very slow group in front of us and Marshall’s refused to do anything. For $80, it’ll be worth your while to find somewhere else..officially done playing here.
Nice course...looks scoreable
Tee boxes could use some work. Whatever process they use for hole cutting isn't working because the plugs don't seem to take. You could see the last 20 hole positions on each green. We played early and the sand trap's were impossible.
5-6 Hour Rounds..
Pace of play still has not been figured out by club staff.
I’ve played both courses at least 5 times and every time there has been a pace of play issue.
I can understand slow play due to weather conditions or even course maintenance but when these aren’t issues, a 5 and a half hour round is ridiculous.
To add to the frustration, the Marshall actually came up and asked our group to hurry up and move to the next hole..
Slow play
Extremely slow play, booked 18 thinking I could get 18 in before my flight. 9 holes took almost 4 hours. 3 groups per hole on average
Love this course
My first time playing the East Course.
Very playable. The course was in great shape except some of the tee boxes. Some tee boxes are a little tired. Fairways and greens were great.
Definitely recommend a round here especially if you love airplanes flying overhead!!!
Nice Course
Greens were slow, sand traps were rock hard, luckily I only ended up in one. Fairways and layout is nice, we played the West Course.
Bear Creek East Course - Worth Playing
This is a wonderful course to play. I played the East course two days in a row, Saturday and Sunday mid afternoon. . The course layout was phenomenal. This is a shot maker’s course The only drawback was the pace of play. Both rounds took over 5 hours. It was painful to wait hole after hole. I would play it again just because I loved the course layout.
All good but course pace is slow.
I played East course and overall it is good but compared to West course it is a run-down course that needs more attention. Noticed that sand traps are finally have some sand to play with. Course pace is horibly slow, i had to quit after first 9. Staffs are exceptioally nice and and courtous.
Super slow play
The pace of play was very slow. The price of this course is a bit high but if pace of play was better it would be worth it. They should either lower price or space out tee times more to allow for faster play. Great course with a lot of fun holes.
