Bear Creek Golf Club - West Course
About
Conveniently located adjacent to the DFW Airport, Bear Creek Golf Club serves up two Ted Robinson-designed, 18-hole masterpieces that are known for their stunning topography and outstanding greens. And with both golf courses playing around 6,700 yards from the tips, golfers can hit long irons and fairway woods off the tee to keep it in the fairway, which is mandatory for a good round on these tight courses. Bear Creek's West Course is demanding early, and is significantly more difficult on the front side. However, the back side opens up and allows some room for error, making this the track of choice for the high handicapper. Nos. 6 and 7 stand out on the demanding front. No. 6 requires a blind tee shot and an approach over water, and no. 7 might be the most difficult on the golf course: a 380-yard par 4 that plays into the wind and also involves water. The back side has the signature hole, the scenic 180-yard 17th, which plays along a lake.

Bear Creek East Course
Greens were immaculate, fairways very well kept. Some of the tee boxes were in repair, but that did not take away from the play. I’d say a little on the pricey side for DFW but you definitely get what you pay for! I will come back and I would recommend.
The Good and Not so good!
Good: at $65 each worth it
Greens in great shape
Cart girls very nice
Cart caddies
Not so good;
Tee Boxes
Range not included in fee
Teeing area at range mostly dirt
No holes on putting green only 3 targets
No pulling the flag, very odd
No rakes so take drops from bunker, strange
Great Value on GOLFNOW
Fairways and greens were a great condition. Highly recommended.
Slowest round of golf ever
Have not played this course in 25 years and now remember why.. understand the new GM is attempting to book 300 rounds per day. Are you f$&@ ing kidding me. We got to # 11 had a group waiting in the tee box waiting for the group in the fairway that was waiting on the group on the green with the group behind us finishing on the green on # 10. At this point we were 3.5 hours in and 11 would have taken us at least 30 or longer.
Greens looking good
Played the West Course Friday Morning. This course was one of the few in the DFW area that remained open pretty much throughout the pandemic and therefore has seen lots of play. The course has held up quite well, especially the greens. Props to the golf course crew for maintaining great conditions.
Course in very good condition
For the amount of play, course in great condition. Greens among the best for public courses in the area.
Always a Great time!
The course is in great shape and the staff is super friendly. The Starting Marshal is an awesome guy and always have a friendliness about himself.
Bear Creek West
Got an early tee time to beat the Texas heat... I was not the only one with that idea. The course was very full, but the Marshalls kept everyone moving. Also riding in a cart solo made the round under 4 hours. Currently the course is in great shape from tee to green. A few holes on the back have been recently sodded, but nothing that will effect the round. Very impressed overall with the shape of the course.
Great Conditions
Course was in great shape. Greens were perfect and the layout was fun to play.
greens are super. fairways well maintained
I love the East course and will return as soon as possible.
soooooooo slow!
Got so frustrated that I stopped at 9. Four 4-somes were backed up on No. 5. Called the clubhouse to send out a marshall, because we never saw one on the course, but they would not answer. Another Golfer told me in the parking lot that they had allowed 8 Japanese women to play as an 8-some. In other words, each would wait for the other seven to hit. I understand that this was addressed, but its hard to believe. Not fun to play nine in three hours. This course is usually a delight. Not today.
East in good shape
Enjoyed a round on the East Course. Had been a few years since I last played this course, and it was in much better shape than last time. Greens rolled true, fairways were in good shape. Only thing was that the bunkers were awful and most were unplayable.
Beverage carts cane around regularly which was a plus. Course was pretty full but finished in under 4.5hrs including a stop at the turn to get some food.
very nice course but......
The east course is in very good shape right now and has been for a while, but the sand traps are atrocious. They are filled with something that looks more like a softball infield- red dirt, small bits of gravel, shallow, hard in places.... The west course has nice sand. Why don't they fix the sand traps on the east?
In spite of that, I still recommend the course and play it regularly.
Did you go during the week or on a weekend?
