Conveniently located adjacent to the DFW Airport, Bear Creek Golf Club serves up two Ted Robinson-designed, 18-hole masterpieces that are known for their stunning topography and outstanding greens. And with both golf courses playing around 6,700 yards from the tips, golfers can hit long irons and fairway woods off the tee to keep it in the fairway, which is mandatory for a good round on these tight courses. Bear Creek's West Course is demanding early, and is significantly more difficult on the front side. However, the back side opens up and allows some room for error, making this the track of choice for the high handicapper. Nos. 6 and 7 stand out on the demanding front. No. 6 requires a blind tee shot and an approach over water, and no. 7 might be the most difficult on the golf course: a 380-yard par 4 that plays into the wind and also involves water. The back side has the signature hole, the scenic 180-yard 17th, which plays along a lake.

2 minutes between tee times , Course Overbooked

Group in front of us had a Tee time at 10:14 while ours was for 10:16. Had 5 groups waiting at tee box to start off. Real slow 5 Hour game. Arrived early for driving range and it was a pain having no cart till 15 minutes before tee time and having to carry everything from back of the parking lot . Just expect better experience for $50 round golf. Real Friendly staff and course was in good shape. Straight forward layout with no real interesting or exciting holes. I will skip this course and stick wth my favorite, Indian Creek.

Backed Way Up

Sending 4 somes out every 5-10 minutes. Wouldn’t have finished my round if I teed off at 2:50. Course looked to be in good shape. There was a group on the tee, on the fairway and on the green. Brutal work by the Marshall. Wouldn’t recommend wasting your efforts

East - Covid19 Golf

Firstly, 5 plus stars for being open with carts during this farce. Since it was so, it was also very crowded which hindered pace-of-play. But, we were all thankful to be outside, on the course having a great time.

For the amount of traffic it had, the course was in really good shape, tee boxes, fairways, greens. Sand traps were however unplayable, most were muddy and rocky. (The only demerit I can give the east course)

Pretty course, big trees, nice cart path and bridges

Staff was spot on from check-in to cart girls.

They a great job at the turn providing food and beverages considering the clubhouse was closed....really good burger!

If you play here, play early!

I understand given the current situation its important to take precautions however, given this time of year if your tee time is 4:40 one can expect to get close to 18 in especially if you're paying for 18.

In my opinion this was just a case of herding players through like cattle. The golf course was PACKED! There were a line of carts on both the east and west 1st tees, and dozens of people standing around waiting for their carts. We didn't actually tee off until 5:10 and by the time you get close to where you can just barely still see the ball (8:25ish) we had played 11 holes.

I do recommend playing this golf course as the conditions are great BUT not anytime soon. If you do play here, make sure your tee time is as early as you can make. Anything around or after 4:30 I wish you luck.

My recommendation for Bear Creek is during weekend play, extend the gap between tee times by reducing the amount of times available. People will still pay a little more for a better experience and pace of play.

Pace of play

The course has tee times 4 min apart. During the pandemic they are supposed to be 16 mins apart. We literally had 4 groups on the tee box for the 1st 7 holes. Pace of play is horrible!

overbooked

My partner and I quit the round after 5 holes. It was exactly 2 hours and 5 minutes since we teed off! There were 3 foursomes waiting to tee off on the 6th hole. This wasn't a situation where some idiots that never play golf were stinking up the course. Tee times were WAY overbooked. Our tee time was 3:16 and the two groups in front of us were 3:12 and 3:08. I've never experienced anything like it. Don't blame this on the Covid-19. This was simply poor management and pure greed. Offer it cheap and stack em deep...

Worse golfing experience ever

Had a 4:30 tee time. Course was running 30 minutes behind when we arrived. No starters or marshalls. Very unorganized. Worker told me the course decidedto shorten the times between tee times. Not smart during social distancing.. Because of the amount of people on the course we were only able to .play 10 holes in 4 hours. Ran out of sunlight. The pace of play was horrible. Got to 2nd hole and 3 foursomes were waiting at the tee box. I feel managment decided to squeeze as many people as possible to make up for lost money the past few weeks. I feel like my money was stolen. Horrible experience and will not be returning.

Slow pace of play, but that is not a result of their scheduling. When we played , it was one of the few courses open. Supply and demand. Bear Creek is doing a good job practicing CDC and keeping golf going. Course is in good condition.

Average course in dfw.

Lay out is nice. Challenging holes and lots of holes to make you think. Conditions not as good as its sister course the west but none the less nice track. Took 4.5 hours to complete the round with lots of impatient players bot behind and in front of us. Could have used a Marshall to atleast give everyone an excuse for the slow play but there was no one the entire round. Beverage cart came around to help with the play so that was fine.
