Bear Creek Golf Club - West Course
About
Conveniently located adjacent to the DFW Airport, Bear Creek Golf Club serves up two Ted Robinson-designed, 18-hole masterpieces that are known for their stunning topography and outstanding greens. And with both golf courses playing around 6,700 yards from the tips, golfers can hit long irons and fairway woods off the tee to keep it in the fairway, which is mandatory for a good round on these tight courses. Bear Creek's West Course is demanding early, and is significantly more difficult on the front side. However, the back side opens up and allows some room for error, making this the track of choice for the high handicapper. Nos. 6 and 7 stand out on the demanding front. No. 6 requires a blind tee shot and an approach over water, and no. 7 might be the most difficult on the golf course: a 380-yard par 4 that plays into the wind and also involves water. The back side has the signature hole, the scenic 180-yard 17th, which plays along a lake.

Great Day, playing on the 4th
We played on the 4th of July the course was in great condition the staff were very friendly the value of the play was awesome the pace of play was excellent had a great time will definitely come back
Great course conditions!
Greens rolled true and fairways were well maintained. A few of the tee boxes were dry and hard. Needed a hammer to put a tee in the ground. Carts girls came around often. Great round overall!
Hot Day
It was a nice 95 degree day in the Texas heat but we had lots of fun. The course was in very good shape, considering I’d played Hank Haney’s 9 hole course the day before, and the pace of play was smooth. The greens were in pretty good shape and the ballad rolled pretty true. Fairways and tee boxes were also in good conditions as well. Thanks BC staff for a nice round!
Great course
Course was just reopened after renovation. It was worth it. Greens are smooth and rolling. Bunker are good. Soft white sand. Overall good condition
I can’t wait to play this coarse again
Both east and west courses are in great shape. Love the layout and have had some of my better rounds on both courses. I’m a 15 handicap and I can post really good scores on these courses because of it’s condition. The greens roll true and if you have a decent game birdies can be had. My only complaint is the lack of distance markers that are visible on the course or in the fairways.
Beware
Went onto golf now to play that day. Didn't select a date to play as in the past, the date defaults to that day unless you select another day. Well, not so on GolfNow. I selected the course, and time, got my confirmation and went to the course. They didn't have me down on the list, so I checked my GolfNow confirmation, and it said Tuesday!!! Well the pro's in the pro shop said they could get me out about 30 minutes later, and would cancel my GolfNow reservation for Tuesday.
Then I get a notice of my upcoming tee time today! I called the course, and they had no record of me on the list today. I called Golf now, and ther was a 1 hour hold time, but allowed me to be called back. They called. When I explained what happened, they said there are no refunds unless it's weather, but would ask for approval. Well, they did give me a credit to be used in the future, but not a refund.
After I use that refund, I won't be back. Poor website design, that can easily lead to this kind of error, and with their restrictive policies, I'll pay a few dollars extra for some reasonable flexibility.
They lost this customer..... Beware you could be next
Nice Layout but NEEDS to Managed MUCH, MUCH better
Have not played at Bear Creek in many years. But this used to be one of the best daily fee courses in the metroplex.
We played the East Course. Both courses are well designed and beautiful layouts in an area near DFW airport (if you like jet airliners this is your spot!) with topography, creeks, abundant trees and wildlife. The staff is friendly and the course gets lots of play. Traps and tee boxes could use some work and concrete cart paths are in serious need of repair - lots of broken patches (many due to adjacent tree roots but many not), Our biggest issue (an immediate fix) is the complete LACK of signs to PROTECT the integrity of the course. Listen up management; 1.you need signs well in front of greens to direct carts BACK to cart paths (EVERY other course has these - why not BC?) 2. it was supposed to be a 90 degree rule today after heavy rains, where are those signs??, 3. Where is the starter? 4. Where is the marshall(s)? 4. Why let golfers bring giant coolers onto course, cant be good for the hard working cart girls or BC profiting from them selling beverages and food. Course WAS a gem, work a bit to make nice again.
Extremely slow.
There was a small tournament that went out before we started. I asked the starter if it would be a problem. He said no, because they were doing a shotgun start and play there all the time... Well it took 5 hours to play 15 holes and then at that point we just quit. Making the turn, there was a ranger there and he was no help at all. I wont be returning anytime soon.
