Bear Creek Golf Club - West Course
About
Conveniently located adjacent to the DFW Airport, Bear Creek Golf Club serves up two Ted Robinson-designed, 18-hole masterpieces that are known for their stunning topography and outstanding greens. And with both golf courses playing around 6,700 yards from the tips, golfers can hit long irons and fairway woods off the tee to keep it in the fairway, which is mandatory for a good round on these tight courses. Bear Creek's West Course is demanding early, and is significantly more difficult on the front side. However, the back side opens up and allows some room for error, making this the track of choice for the high handicapper. Nos. 6 and 7 stand out on the demanding front. No. 6 requires a blind tee shot and an approach over water, and no. 7 might be the most difficult on the golf course: a 380-yard par 4 that plays into the wind and also involves water. The back side has the signature hole, the scenic 180-yard 17th, which plays along a lake.

West Course
Was in great condition given the fact that it’s been raining for 2 days. Pace of play was great for a Saturday morning. Overall a great round for $65.
Greens and bunkers a mess
Rocky bunkers were completely unplayable. Took one practice swing and had hidden rocks mark my iron, pebbles and rocks the size of nickels and quarters. Greens looked like they hadn’t been cared for a long time. Rough look for a club I usually love.
Good course, needs a little updating
Really enjoy Bear Creek, both east and west courses and have played many times. I really like playing their scramble tournaments which they host often. The course and club house are older and could use a refresher but the staff is very friendly and accommodating. They recently added GPS which is a great plus however their golf cars are really old and in terrible shape overall. Have had to return and replace or call for replacement out in course multiple times which is a pain in the middle of a round. The greens are consistent and in good shape.
Overall, due to value and friendly atmosphere I will continue to play this course and would recommend to others to check out Bear Creek.
Much improved
In 2004 I played the course several times a month, Today I was very pleased with the improvements that have been made.
Amazing layout and fun course
Greens were well kept and the fairways were green even during the winters. It was fun playing the course. Loved it.
Great Course, But...
Bear Creek West in great shape, as usual! But, disappointing they don’t/won’t honor Veterans with any discounts on weekend rates(even on Veteran’s Day :( )...
Slow Player
Sunday, West courses,
l don't know who is that group of around 12:20 to 12:45. 4 some player.. way slow. No marshall.
Display said "39 min slow" 4 guy never look back.
Finaly we move to East courses after front 9 holes.
Track is OK. Very loud due to proximity to airport
Course was in decent condition. Fairways and greens were bone dry. The experience was severely hampered by the proximity to the airport. There are planes landing every 10 minutes or less, so lots of noise and the air quality is questionable, too. Price was OK ($30 On Golfnow)
Good time
We had a good time today. The course was in good shape.
Open, easy to play
This course was relatively easy to play. There were a few tricky holes but overall a great course for beginner/intermediate players. Pace of play was rather slow.
An interesting track that is decent as public courses go.
For this being the end of a hot Summer, they have done a decent job maintaining the greens, fringe, and rough.. The tee boxes, fairways, and especially the bunkers need help. Trying to figure out why the grass was dry but the bunkers were wet, which made a good number of them unplayable and inconsistent. Lots of unfilled divots in the fairways and just about every bunker needed to be raked due to inconsiderate players.
First Time Review_MLB
Nice golf course with lots of trees and challenging fairways ( East course ). First time playing at this golf course. Some of the concrete cart paths have dangerous crumbling concrete, but overall in good shape. Noticed trash in woods along fairways, which suggests some of the clientele are not being respectful. Saw turtles, water moccasin, squirrels. Ball washers came in handy but they need to change out the liquid more often. Grass in good shape but under attack in some spots from Armadillos. Will play here again. MLB
