Bear Creek Golf Club - West Course
About
Conveniently located adjacent to the DFW Airport, Bear Creek Golf Club serves up two Ted Robinson-designed, 18-hole masterpieces that are known for their stunning topography and outstanding greens. And with both golf courses playing around 6,700 yards from the tips, golfers can hit long irons and fairway woods off the tee to keep it in the fairway, which is mandatory for a good round on these tight courses. Bear Creek's West Course is demanding early, and is significantly more difficult on the front side. However, the back side opens up and allows some room for error, making this the track of choice for the high handicapper. Nos. 6 and 7 stand out on the demanding front. No. 6 requires a blind tee shot and an approach over water, and no. 7 might be the most difficult on the golf course: a 380-yard par 4 that plays into the wind and also involves water. The back side has the signature hole, the scenic 180-yard 17th, which plays along a lake.

First time will be back!
Played west and was great! Bring your putting game. Only complaint was the carts, had issues and died on me on the last hole... but they came to rescue quickly! Need new carts.
sand?
everything was fine except for "sand traps".let's just call them bunkers.
Great Shape
Entire course is in fantastic condition especially the greens. Good pace of play never had to wait. Marshall’s are on the course monitoring play.
Nice track
Bear Creek West is a nice track. It is in good shape and the ace of play was great except for one slow foresome but they let me play through in short order.
Slow play. Great conditions, except for bunkers.
check in staff and starter were extremely friendly and helpful. Fairways and greens were perfect. Bunkers are not sand, but some clay dirt mix with a hard base. Chunk and run bunkers shots are about all you can do. As usual at Bear Creek, play was very slow. Four some in front of us were holding up the entire course.
Stable course
Played this course several times and each time have had a mixed bag experience. This time was different and had a great experience...the fairways and greens were in great shape.
Get out and play this course!
An hour wait for a golf cart
Course was overbooked due to a tournament on Saturday, and had no carts available for daily fee players. Waited an hour for a cart. Then the course was backed up, we waited 20 mins on 1 tee for 4 other foursomes to tee off. Its 100 degrees out, and non of their water stations had water.
Terrible experience. Paid for 18 holes, but left after 9. And, will never go back.
The planes don't bother you
This is a great little course with 2 full length 18-hole courses on them. So the variety is great. The holes here are tricky and are in great shape all year round somehow.
During the last winter, somehow their fairways were bright green.
Very nice. Fun to play
I was told that the greens were aerated about 3 weeks ago. Just starting to come back and was a bit slow. Course layout is nice. I think better than the West course. Great Hot Deal online then when I arrived about an hour before my tee time I was asked if I wanted to go early and was sent out right away. Lots of trees and really, a nice fun course to play. Give it a go. Thumbs up!!!
Love these two courses
Pretty course, in great condition, greens are in great condition. Some very interesting and challenging holes. Definitely will play again.
Nice round on the west side
Bear creek is a tough little course with some blind shots and forced carries. it also had something ive never seen before...a flag that your supposed to raise and lower for blind shots to let the tee box know its safe to hit. interesting idea. ive always seen bells to ring or gps but not a bag idea, if used, which the group in front of us did not. the conditions were really good, but super tight lie fairways in some spots. also a few of the par 3 tee's were beat up pretty bad. the bunkers could use some grooming as they were hard but seemed like enough dirt. had to use a wedge with less bounce to hit well out of them. greens were where this course shined and im a huge greens guy. fast and true from what i saw. got a little faster as the day wore on. really nice design and very pretty hole views. the one thing ill comment on and its not huge just not my preference and its the first time ive seen this in Dallas...gas powered carts? there were a few elevated tees but nothing electric couldn't handle. overall a great round, right at 4 hours with multiple groups in front of us. we saw the ranger 4-5 times, no doubt keeping pace, which was well appreciated. thanks alot bear creek, will be back again.
Golf Now Hot Deal
It was 102 outside l, but it was a great round of golf. The course was very nice and full with water stations and restrooms.
Average
The course was in good shape
Pace was slow front nine but staff got involved and fixed for back nine
Cart staff needed .ore choices on cart and prices on cart were very high
July 4th Holiday Round
Course is in good condition. Greens could use a little work. This is the second time in a month I've played here and have been behind a 5-Some. We finally had to go around them and skip a hole and there was no one for 4 holes in front of them. No ranger ever came by and the 5-Some had no golf etiquette. They really need to stop with this practice or I may never go back.
