Bear Creek Golf Club - West Course
About
Conveniently located adjacent to the DFW Airport, Bear Creek Golf Club serves up two Ted Robinson-designed, 18-hole masterpieces that are known for their stunning topography and outstanding greens. And with both golf courses playing around 6,700 yards from the tips, golfers can hit long irons and fairway woods off the tee to keep it in the fairway, which is mandatory for a good round on these tight courses. Bear Creek's West Course is demanding early, and is significantly more difficult on the front side. However, the back side opens up and allows some room for error, making this the track of choice for the high handicapper. Nos. 6 and 7 stand out on the demanding front. No. 6 requires a blind tee shot and an approach over water, and no. 7 might be the most difficult on the golf course: a 380-yard par 4 that plays into the wind and also involves water. The back side has the signature hole, the scenic 180-yard 17th, which plays along a lake.

Great course
I have played here many times now and really enjoy the course and the layout. Not extremely hard and long enough fairways for an average player to be able to keep their ball in play. Just an all around fun course
First time and winter rules
East course was played and busy but the pace was good. The only criticism is no mapping of the holes were provided and nothing on the tee boxes. We played blind with no clue of the layout. Still enjoyed and will come back.
Good day for golf
We played the West course on November 6, 2017 and the temperature was about 60 degrees when we started and rose to around 75 by the time we finished. The course was in very good condition and the greens were a bit fast, but very playable. I always love watching the planes from DFW airport take off or land during my round at Bear Creek. I would recommend playing this course.
Use to be a great course.
Still........... this place has the worst tee boxes in the DFW area. This need to be addressed. It's a great course but this has been an issue for years and it's just getting worse. They have changed a lot to speed up play which is good but if the tee boxes stay in this shape I'll never go back.
Beautiful Fall Coloring
The front nine of the West Course offered fantastic vistas with its hilly terrain and each hole framed by trees changing colors. Back 9 is also pretty, but the Hwy 360 freeway that runs along a few holes cuts down on the tranquility.
Course was in good condition and is an excellent value.
Front nine was a bit slow, but the back nine picked up and total round was 4:10.
Challenging Course
I really enjoyed the layout at this course. It’s framed nicely with a lot of trees. Really makes you play target golf.
Wanna play this course again
I'm a beginning player, really enjoyed the course, it allowed me to continue to improve my play. Drawback is a lot shots in the blind, due to no hole layout on the scorecards or at the tee boxes. Still a great outing and the hazards are not bad...
This was the East Course.
GPS !!
GPS on carts is one of the best features to arrive over the years. This perk has been removed from some courses lately, and for the golfer that likes variety in layouts, this is very disappointing. The system is great for promoting services, as well as help on blind shots and tracking the whereabouts of others. These Bear Creek courses need more markers throughout-GPS recommended.
Had Fun
Fairways were in good condition. Greens were a little bumpy from being punched recently. They need to be rolled.
This place is brutal
Worst bunkers I've ever seen. Tees were nasty. Greens were avg. Putting green and range were a joke. I hope you like paying $9 for a medium bucket of balls that are old, scuffed up and have all been run over by the mower. Spent a total of $80 and wish I could take it all back and do yard work or something. Save your money or play elsewhere
Great front nine.
Went through front nine I 90 minutes. Caught up with 2 five domes and back nine took 2.5 hours. Ruined my score and round. Very wet and muddy in a lot of ares.
Bear creek east
Much improved, greens were just aerated, so a bit sandy and bumpy. Other than that, good value and nice layout.
improved bunkers, still very thick rough
Played on 9/8 and bunkers on several holes were shabby. Compacted. But today i landed in several and they were fluffed and raked. Rough is really high and finding the ball let alone hitting it back into the fairway is no small task.
Greens finally playing acceptably
