Fun Mountain Gold

Fun course, short but narrow, not quite as easy as you might think. Compared to some of the other courses around, this one is fun, rarely crowded and plays pretty quickly.

Not so great a place for food before or after a round. No practice faculties before you tee off

Blossoming beauty!

Fun track! Great people working there. The course was healing from a large degree of maintenance and changes but it is growing into a great course to play with your friends!

Excellent location-Bring Extra Balls or Stay on the Greens

The weather was slightly warmer than San Jose. Took only 45 minutes to get there. Since it's spring, many of the white grass flowers were in bloom. Of course that made finding your ball more difficult which took extra time. The grass on the greens were not trimmed enough for the amount moisture on the grass. Instead of the ball rolling to a spot it hopped and hid itself easily in the rough which as you can see made the the game much more leisurely. We started at 9:30 and ended at 2:30 with a 20min break between 9th and 10th. 4.5 hours for 18 holes. Although it is a good course-

Santa Cruz mountains and redwood trees

I recommend Boulder Creek golf course because every visit there results in a beautiful experience. The golf is good with redwood trees lining the fairways giving every hole a challenge and opportunity. Santa Cruz county friendly.

Great Day of Golf!

Look if you're looking for a master course this is not it! This is a great little corse that is well maintained, as best it can in the middle of a forest on the top of a mountain! The scenery is beautiful and there are a handful of hole that will both frustrate you and make it all worth while!

So far, worst experience

It is a beautiful location. But the course was an awful condition. Carts had to stay on the path the whole way around. You could lose your ball in the middle of the fairway. It was by far the worst experience I've had a boulder Creek golf club

Course was too damp..

As the course has too much water even on the fairway, it's very hard to retrieve the ball even we were right on...

Otherwise the course in general is pretty good for the money we paid ($1/hole)...

Rainy daze

In the beautiful foggy / rainy afternoon 2 friends and myself went and played 18. Great course well taken care of. Staff was very polite except the bartender. The women wasn't very friendly. Didn't seem like she wanted to deal with us. Besides for her this place was more then amazing. Definitely play here again! Thanks

Good Value

Course condition gets better as you go. #1 I would skip altogether. Good value for the money and a challange for any level golfer. Narrow fairways and interesting greens. Overall if the weather is good you can't beat it for the price.

Fun par 3's

If you like working on your short game and being technical with your irons, then this is the perfect course for you. Out of 18 holes, 11 of them are par 3's!! Easy holes to birdie and the par 4 and 5's are not that long either. Fun little course. $36 any given day and it includes the cart, a drink and even a sandwhich! (upgrade to a beer for only $2) It was extremely warm up there, but plenty of redwoods for coverage. Hit the ball straight and you'll be fine!!! OH YEAAAA the marhsall there was wonderful! He kept coming around with a cooler full of water to help hydrate. Nothing like ice cold water. Saw him more than you would see a cart girl at a regular course. I highly recommend trying this course out!

Short but beautiful and challenging

The staff are very friendly. The course has scenic beauty and is challenging with narrow fairways and many trees as obstacles. Greens were in nice shape. Pace of play was excellent on front 9 until we hit the back 9 where is got backed up a little. Still finished in very reasonable time around 3 hrs.

Wedding Closed the Front 9!

Title says it all. Saturday afternoon after the long winding roads I made it to the course and struggled to find a place to park because the course was hosting a huge wedding which took place in the middle of the 1st Fairway. Now instead of arranging it so golfers could go around the wedding and start on 2, or play 1 as a short par 3,
they jammed all their golfers onto the back 9. I was allowed to start on 2 because I asked and could get by before the wedding started, but by the time I made the turn, the wedding had still closed the first hole the the back was a traffic jam. I skipped 3 holes on the back and the first hole on the front.
That being said. The holes I played were short but fun. Mostly par 3s some short par 4s and a couple was laughably short par 5s. The yardage on the scorecard is marked from BEHIND the tee boxes.
My favorite par 5 was an astro turf covered deck tee box with a rubber tee. It was 100 yards behind the actual tee markers. I went back there and hit because it forced a quality fade drive through the redwoods to be able to reach the green in two.
Ok the course is funky, but besides that one tee box, in great shape, the greens are soft but challenging with lots of slope.
The fairways are framed by trees forcing you to work the ball.
There is no practice area (that I saw) and if there was food service the wedding was taking those resources. There is a bar.
There probably is not a wedding there everyday and it is a fun campground course.
Not worth going out of your way for (the road to get there is a pain) but if you are in the neighborhood and looking for an unique experience, go have some fun.

Golfing in redwoods inspiring

Enjoyable golf outing. Casual non pretentious experience. Unique setting. Not an elite course but still satisfying. Probably not challenging for low handicapper. Can get toasty in late morning and afternoon in summer & fall. However coastal overcast usually moderates extreme temperatures. Looks like the locals dominate the play. Pickups, jeeps, beemers, occasional Tesla in parking lot under beautiful maples starting seasonal color change. Enjoyable backdrop.
