Course is in good shap only one thing they need to repair the diving range and maybe offer grass’ to hit of off
Mixed signals
When booking the time I looked at the information section because I saw that the fee included a cart. Get to the course and apparently that’s not the case. There is another piece of language on the booking page that says it is walking rate and carts are available to rent. Well I say tie goes to the runner in my book but NoSir. They would not budge. I love the layout and difficulty of the place but sometimes the shop can be more difficult than the course.
Not the best
Tee boxes are horrible and the greens are horribly bumpy. Haven’t played out there in some time and it use to be fantastic. This time it was just alright.
Challenging course
Though Crystal is a gem on the Peninsula, it still has a high price point for the round. The greens are just ok and the tee boxes need some work as well. The fairways on the other note are in great shape and nice to play.
Overall this is a tough course with its layout, length and design.

Tough, beautiful layout!
If you can play well at Crystal Springs gc, you can play well anywhere in the Bay area; hilly & sloped topography,( especially on the front nine) makes this course challenging. Also, it's one of the few courses in the Bay area with no houses, and surrounded by plenty of trees & wildlife. Great course & wonderful staff.
Not recommended
1. Windy.
2. Fallen leaves all over the ground
3. Challenge course for beginners
4. Long wait
5. Bathrooms was not clean
6. Food was terrible, closed early

Friendly staff
It was early morning and very pleasant to meet a few staff along the way. Pro shop Jim is very friendly. Greenskeeper superintendent Justin working diligently who I got a couple of pointers from. Overall I had a great day and the course is in very good shape. The course is public but also cater to all you can play monthly membership. One thing I really want to say is that all regular members should take time to repair their own ball marks plus a couple left by others on the green. In fact this should be a rule in their book. This course will be terrific when greens are intact.
